When it comes to good brews and tasty food, "PUB" food really needs to be on another level of awesome. You know what I'm talking about when you bite into that burger and before you swallow, you're already taking the next bite? Or not coming up for oxygen in between mouthfuls of gooey sloppy nachos? Then, before you know it, your belly has expanded to three times its normal size. You're forced to do one of two things: poop hard OR take a 3-hour nap (that is just what I was taught when my dad showed me how to be an American). I never considered myself the "hippie type," but if someone would have told me before walking into Pig Minds that it was all tofu, turnips, and KALE, I never would have even considered trying it (just like Lima-beans, the word "KALE" brings back horrible flashbacks from my childhood). UPDATE: WellI tried the food here and it is as tasty as any food I have tried from any other pub or restaurant. Surprisingly good, considering it is also relatively "healthy" for you. I wish I could tell you what on earth a "Soy Curl" is, but it is heaven on a hoagie bun with special sauce. I feel it is worth mentioning that I usually feel pretty darn good after eating here.

My obsession. I go every chance I can. They change their menu based on seasons and holidays. Not a beer drinker but I've sampled a few and also very good. This place is for everyone!

Wonderful vegan brewery, the staff was very nice, and the food was delicious! The service was a little slow, but they were very busy. Even if you don't like vegan food, they have great typical bar food appetizers, so just plop down at the bar, and enjoy some great brews!

The food is very inconsistent. Every time i go here its different. One time they had no problem serving me burnt sweet potato wedges. When i say burnt, i mean literally black and charred. The service is okay and the food is alright. The sandwiches are too big in height and are dry sometimes. The korean tacos are the only thing i care for, if they mess those up, im out for good.

A really great brew pub here in Rockland, Illinois with excellent and very friendly folks and a laid back atmosphere. Nice overall selection of beers, my favorite was Sweep the Leg, the west coast IPA and probably my favorite name for a beer ever.

Welcome to the land of incompetence. Let's start at the beginning. We walked in and saw a sign that said something along the lines of seat yourself, and so we said. We sat. And we sat. And we sat some more. Upon waiting for 10 minutes? 15 minutes? We were finally greeted by a waitress. Do you think she apologized for the blatant ignoring of her customers? Nope, she didn't. She dropped three menus on us, said "I'll be right back," and walked away.
Okay, time for food, right? Wrong. We waited. And we waited. And we waited some more. Until FINALLY, our waitress returned. At this time we were ready to order drinks, appetizers, and food. She took our drink orders and said, "I'll be right back." So we again began to wait. When she eventually returned she set down our drinks and again said, "I'll be right back."
I don't know how long she was gone, but when she came back we rambled off our order, ordering one appetizer and three entrees. Now, when one orders an appetizer they expect it to arrive at their table before their entree. Once the waitress left with our order we didn't see her again until our entrees came outabout a hundred years later. This is when she told us our appetizer would be out shortly (if she even knew the meaning of the word).
At one point during our meal, one waitress (not ours) yelled, directly over our table and into my ear, "Give me those menues!" It was incredibly unnecessary and completely unprofessional, and I did not appreciate it. Throughout my meal, I could see this particular waitress interacting with other humans, but never seen someone be so incredibly rude to that many people at one time.
Our appetizer finally arrived, and over all the food itself was a disappointment. It was all poorly constructed, and lacked any real flavor. At the end of the meal, I had only eaten half of my entree, as I was paying for it I decided to get a box to take it home with me. It was about 30 plus minutes until we got the check, and even longer before we got a box.
All in all, our experience at Ping Minds Brewing Co. was subpar and disappointing. If your looking for incompetent service and inattentive waitresses, this is the place for you!response / report this review -

The beer and appetizers and dessert are worth the drive! We've had better wings at other restaurants but their nachos, garlic fries, and PRETZELS we're so good. Didn't care for the mustard dip tho. And we didn't like the Ruben sandwich, italiano, or burger, but now we know. Id recommend the chicken sandwich, and bowl of chilli, and bowl of mac and cheese. Our server, Dustin E. was the best! Thank you again Dustin!

This place is fantastic! Their vegan food is the best, I highly recommend the bbq flatbread. Their beer is super good, and they always seem to have new ones when I go, even if it's only been a few weeks. The past few times I have been there our server was Bjorn and he was awesome! Super friendly, quick, and had suggestions on what new to try. Definitely going back as much as I can this summer to enjoy the outdoor area.

Great ales with an awesome atmosphere. I wish they focused as much on the food as they do their ales. I think they may have lost a chef because the food keeps going down hill and the menu is created by non-vegansfor a vegan establishment? Really wish the food was better but there are delicious items still in the apps section for fellow vegans looking for good brews and junk food.

Great spot for a good beer. Their chef is great. Made any tofu dish taste like the real thing, really impressive. This place is especially good to visit when it's warm. Nice outdoor patio

I love this place! The food is amazing and the beer is delicious. Love going there in the summer when the garage is open. I just wish they were open for lunch as well. Staff is friendly too!

Server was friendly. Pace is slow. Several of the dishes are very delicious. I was impressed by their vegan cheeses. The margarita pizza was very good, as was their brussel sprouts. Ruben was OK. Very glad to have found this place - looking forward to coming back to try more from their menu!
