Love this 1950's atmosphere in Jaxon's. First thing servers give us is popcorn fresh out of the machine. Yes, they do have things other than ice cream (including hot dogs), but people mostly come for ice cream here. There is even a line at the to go window. Their waffles with ice cream is a huge portion which I shared with my boyfriend and kids it's pretty big. And they have sugar free ice cream too.
What a place! The entre food is superb with a great selection, the decor is original and interesting, the staff are really attentive and as for the ice cream, well! Clearly all the ice cream is hand made, some unique and original flavours and really generous portions. Value for money, most definitely, you won't come away hungry. Don't go anywhere else if like us you are only in FL for one night.
Classic ice cream shop- a legend for over 50 years. Ice cream is very good but WAY too expensive ($15 for an average sized banana split AND they add a "sharing charge"!). A good selection of candy & treats Most of the young staff were a little "pissy" in their behavior, but our slightly older waitress was attentive & nice
This is one of my favorite ice cream places in the world. I have been going there for 30 years and really love the food, the ice cream, the candy store in front, and the fun ambiance. The service is great and it's always packed because it's so good. Its been in business for over 60 years so you know they are doing something right. I highly recommend it!
What can say about this place, they are awesome! I went here as a child and naturally when I had children I brought them here this is such a great place and is so entertaining. In my mind and in my child's mind this place has been here forever it is just awesome, this is one of the original places where you can buy old fashioned candy, way before I discovered it at Cracker Barrels. They don't only saw ice cream but obviously the name implies it and it is just great so many different flavor combinations with so many different recipes and they are open to your imagination. Outside of the ice cream that they serve here you can pick up an old fashioned hamburger, hot dogs or anything else you can imagine that a restaurant would serve but there's one thing you will have to bring, that is your appetite. All the servings are huge, either that or bring family and friends with you to help you eat all the food. Enjoy.
Nostalgic Ice Cream Shop in Dania. It's in a strip mall. Very busy, we waited 45min but it was good. Some good burgers, sandwiches and salads. The real treat of course is fresh ice cream. Load noises and fun plates on the walls.
The burgers are big and tasty. Real meat cooked to perfection that does not need mustard or ketchup. The ice cream is not bloated with sugar, it has flavor and the texture is great and has real fruit. The only thing not in favor is doing line to be seated. I went a Saturday and had to wait for 15 - 20 minutes
Visiting here is an adventure, to be experienced by those who enjoy a completely unique and fun time out. Go with expectations of a wait in line and a crowded, bustling, kid populated dining room. The menu has something for everyone. The portions are large, the decor is fascinating, as is the efficiency of the servers and kitchen as they hustle to serve so many at once. You will not be bored watching this show! Loved it! Our server Brian was exceptional. We were a table of 4 and we arrived at around 3:15 on a Saturday. It took only about 15 minutes to be seated.
Jaxson's Ice cream shop was an awesome experience. The food was good ( I loved my salad, but my wife did not like her patty melt), it is a kid-friendly place and my wife and kids said the ice cream was outstanding (I am trying to shed a bunch of pounds). Would we wait in line for the same experience again? Nope. We went right as they opened up on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and enjoyed this Triple D place. So go early and enjoy! The best part was that they served my unsweetened iced tea in a small pitcher and popcorn was served like breadsticks! A great place, but it is not worth the wait in line!
This place is iconic and historic to south Florida.
There is always a long line outside for dinning in. The food is good but not really impressive. It is the decor, the little nostalgic novelty shop that's worth checking out. The ice cream is great though. Try the flavored ice cream even though you normally only order vanilla or chocolate. Get the kitchen sink ice cream if you have a big group.
Jaxson's has amazing ice cream!!!! There are so many different flavors to choose from. Outside there are 2 different lines, one for just getting ice cream and the other is to dine in. Both lines are usually long but the wait is worth it.
Here it is, folks, the famous Jackson's ice cream! It's everything you wanted! There's a sign to stick your faces in and take a great picture, there's a carousel for very small children. They bring you complimentary popcorn like other places set out bread. Their food is yummy, hot dog and hamburgers stuff. Their ice cream is rich, amazing, and in large amounts. Since you can't finish it their, they give you a Styrofoam cup and lid to take home and freeze for later. Come on down! I've been going there for 6 years
I love this place, always have a great time but finding a hair in your ice cream can really just ruin your experience. Wearing a hair net when serving food should always be a must. May not go back after finding a hair in my ice cream unless changes are made.
I have eaten here for the first time June of 2016, and a second time 2 weeks ago. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. The waiters/waitresses love their jobs and have honest answers about the food and ice cream. The popcorn is always delicious. I got a chili cheese dog both times and couldn't finish the whole thing! Their Arnold Palmer is also delicious! Prices may seem crazy high, but you get A LOT of food for what you pay. This is definitely going to be a stop for me whenever I am visiting!
