The food was amazingly good. The chicken and mushroom paella WOW very rich. Two pictures of sangria and everyone was happy and several tapas was great. Go and enjoy the food. It is great.
We live in Florida and our family of four came to DC on vacation. The reason we choose to come to Jaleo was because of seeing all the things that Jose was doing in and for the people of Puerto Rico it is amazing. We wanted to support his mission. Thank you.

This was one of the best lunches I've ever had in my life. I had the pleasure of going to Jaleos with a friend of mine who is from Washington, who was showing me around to her favorite eateries. We got to the restaurant right when it opened for lunch and were seated promptly. I don't remember the name of the dish that I ate, but it was a dish with rice, bacon, fried egg, plantains (?) in a red sauce. The first bite that I took was filled with such delicious and complex flavors that I immediately had to halt our conversation and concentrate on the meal. Highly recommended.

The food was great, however was a bit pricey for my blood. Great overall experience, maybe a good place to go for a special occasion. But staff was nice and helpful. I recommend you try at least once.

I had the sandwich and soup of the day. The carrot soup was great. The sausage sandwich was a bit greasy. My friend ordered a salad with no tomatoes; it came with tomatoes. She reminded him "No tomatoes, please." The waiter went back to the kitchen, then came back to tell her they don't have a salad without tomatoes. Really? The Cuba Libre was amazing.

Well executed tapas. You'll find commonly found tapas items prepared with elevated ingredients, preparation and a twist. Scan the extensive menu for more off the beaten path offerings and pick one or two. I also recommend Jose's Gin and Tonic. It's a simple cocktail with fresh ingredients and an elevated presentation.

This restaurant was on top ten to eat by google and We got table outside. We have good Spanish tapas restaurants in our city, but this one was beyond our expectations. All food was delisious, especially, try the desert tomato-strawberry sorbet with almond cake. Definitely, have to stop for dinner.

We were able to get a table pretty quickly at 8:30 on a Friday night after catching jazz in the sculpture garden. The small plates were creative, unique, delicious. I had the quail and the rabbit (since I don't often come across those proteins on a menu). It was a nice experience sitting outside absorbing the downtown buzz. But this place is not exempt from the curse of the Tapas joint..a little over priced.

Delicious!! This place has the best flavor of food. The Gazpacho was amazing! I had the salmon plate which was tasty. The portions are small, fyi. I also love the bread they serve as it's with fresh garlic, rosemary, and good quality olive oil. A must try place!

We came here for dinner before a show at Ford's Theatre. The staff was responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Try the "paella" (put in "quotes" because it's not traditional paella). You won't be disappointed.

The service was a little off during our one visit - none of the usual banter from our waiter about the restaurant or the menu. He kind of seemed more like a busboy. Maybe his English skills weren't the greatest? He did take care of fixing our bill with a minimum of fuss after one item wasn't to my taste, so bonus points for that.

The food was great - tapas plates made for sharing with the group. The cheese options were yummy. Try the garlic shrimp, and the bacon wrapped figs.

The ambiance is very strange. The wall o' dolls trapped in a giant web of string was downright creepy. Strangely, they decided to decorate the other end of the restaurant with a giant picture of it, so everyone could revel in the creepiness. The restaurant was very busy during peak dinner hour, and it was pretty loud as a result, so conversation was difficult. Might have enjoyed my visit more had I sat outside.

This place has a great atmosphere and wonder outdoor tables. Initially, the hostesses weren't very nice or helpful, but our waiter made up for it. He was very friendly and chatty. I am giving it 4 stars because the food was good, but not great. We had the paella and a couple of tapas. I do agree with some reviews that the food is too salty and I had better paellas at Julian Serrano. I really like the ultimate gin and tonic, that was simply amazing.
