If you get the discount season pass this is a great park if you're local. Short drive from DC area with fun and interesting rides. Haven't had a problem with the ride operators, they all have seemed very nice. Definitely worth the season pass which grows in value in the summer when the water park opens.

A reasonably priced park. Not the cleanest, but it's not terrible. Season passes are well worth the cost. They have fun seasonal openings.

If you have the annual membership and food pass you will enjoy countless days of entertainment and food throughout the year. Service is not efficient, however. Sometimes rude and always exceptionally slow. The rides are amazing and the lines there are not long - ever.

It was decent, I am used to parks that are bigger and have a lot more to offer on the west coast so there wasn't enough variety for the price for me. Part of that might have been because I visited during the holiday season when they have limited hours and rides anyways. The rides they do have are fun--but many of them (mostly the roller coasters) are quite jerky so beware if you have neck/back problems or don't like that kind of thing. Additionally, I would only go if you can get a discount--it's not worth the full 70 dollars for their holiday tickets given they don't have as much to offer--fortunately we got ours for about half price (just a little over).

Been going here for some time now. The park has good rides, for both young and adult. There is much to do and could easily spend an entire day here with stuff still left over. I am knocking a star down due to it's cleanliness. Oh, and yellow jackets. They are EVERYWHERE. It's like they staged an assault on the park and won. Have a sweet drink in your hand, better watch out because they will fly and crawl right into your straw.

I've had a season pass to this amusement park for almost 7 years. As a kid, I loved the place. There's a great selection of rides for anyone of any age. The problems started to show as I got older. First off, this is not a clean park. Now it's not like the place is covered in trash but there's still enough scattered around to notice. Most of the popular rides break down maybe once a month or so which is fine for a season pass holder but for going for a day, it can really mess things up. The food served at the park is incredibly expensive, it once cost me and my sister almost 40 dollars to eat, and it's far from good. Now it's not unappetizing, just not something I would eat if I had almost any other option. The water park is probably the highlight of the park but that faces incredibly long lines in the summer. Something that is understandable yet still far from desirable. Overall, if you really can't make the drive up to Hershey park, this is a decent place to go once but I don't think I would recommend getting a season pass unless you plan to spend lots on food and see a bit of garbage.

This park is very well run. My family always has a very good time at Six Flags America. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. The rides are a blast, and the shows are superb. Pay no attention to the people who blast the food. It tastes and is priced no different than any other amusement park that I know of. It was good enough to where I bought the season dining pass with my regular season pass. There was a time where this park was pretty bad (before 2011), but they have really turned things around, making it more than worth the price of admission! I'm looking forward to this season.

My family & I got passes this year! On sale, so it was almost the price of a one day trip! We love it! We have a 6 year old (just turned, so he was 5 for the first months of our passes) and a 14 month old and they both love it! My kids have teenage cousins who also have passes & love it, so it's great for all ages! There are fun water areas, one with a tipping water barrel which is a huge hit! Great rides for young kids where parents can get on with them, also rides for teens & adults! The Wonder Woman swing (I forget the exact name) was a great one addition and the Super Man roller coaster is a still awesome!

Nice place to hang out with the family. There are many rides for people of all ages. There is a dedicated kids area too. The water park is fun as well. There are plenty of rides for kids and grown-ups as well.
The food is quite expensive though and you are not allowed to bring any food/drink inside the park. So, we prefer to take our own food and come out during lunch time for a quick bite.
Season passes are available and are advisable to save cost.response / report this review -

It was the worst entertainment experience of my life. Upon entering the park, I witnessed people fighting. I have a Season Pass and I was supposed to receive lunch, dinner and a snack. The person at the gate tried to scan my badge but it didn't work, so the girl at the snack stand wanted me to go back to the front gate to have my pass scanned, just to get my snack. I waited in line for one hour to hear the counter help tell me I could not get a snack because my Season Pass didn't work. Then I waited in line for another hour to get dinner. I asked five or six Associates where a particular section of the park was and they were unable to help me, (uninformed staff). People were fighting, cursing, and arguing all over the park. My sons encountered two groups of people line jumping to get on the rides. Upon exiting the park I was unable to directly access my car because a crime scene was taped off and my family and I had to walk several feet around it. Not a good experience at all.

Great experience, didn't have to wait long in any lines. Most of the staff was polite. Only bad part was the food prices. $30 for 3 small slices of pizza. $5 bottle waters. But I guess that's typical of any amusement park. I suggest you bring your own food.

I haven't been to this park in the last several summers due to it not being worth the money and time to go and it's a shame cause I always looked forward to going every summer. I love rides, especially roller coasters. The latest incident with one of the coasters there which was my favorite is a turn off. Makes me doubt how often and how through they check rides before letting people on. If I have to think about that, then I'm not stepping foot on any rides there. If the rides are not functioning right then they are closed. Feels like you end up paying a bunch of money to just walk around a park. I would rather make a trip to another state to other parks.

Typical amusement park with rides and games, shows and characters. Clean park and fun for the whole family. The 'Flash Pass' is a great idea, although a HUGE rip off. If you buy a 'Flash Pass', buy the cheapest one, as the wait time is the same for the most expensive, as it is for the cheapest. As long as you have a 'Flash Pass' (you will be able to bypass the main line). There really is no system set up to give priority to those pay more for a shorter wait time. I must also mention the pour staff quality. Most of the staff that I encountered acted as if they didn't want to be there and did not care about park guests. Food stands had very slow service and rude employees. Ride staff DID NOT always check restraints, neglecting job quality and frankly guest safety for speed.

If you're not going to pack your own food and eat it in the car , the best place to eat is the crazy horse saloon during one of the show times. It serves hot food , alcohol and snacks. It is heated or air conditioned and in doors , which is nice any time of year. The shows are super entertaining and the round tables give everyone a good seat. The bathrooms here are often the cleanest in the park. A great break in the middle of a day of rides.
