I live in nyc, but I stayed here when my boyfriend’s plane got in extremely late. I wasn’t expecting a super fancy hotel, however the staff was very unresponsive. Our room was 120, which happened to be in the corner of the basement. At some point overnight, some piping dropped water into our room, and when I woke up, the carpeted floor was so saturated with water that when I stepped on it, water sloshed up. Additionally, the bathroom was unusable due to the water leakage. Our toilet paper was completely soaked. When we alerted the staff, they told us they would send someone downstairs. After waiting 15 minutes, we went upstairs ourselves and got the manager, who inspected the room. He apologized for the state of the room, however when I asked for a partial refund he refused to give it to me. I understand that water leaks, and sometimes these things happen. However, when they do, I don’t believe it’s unreasonable to expect a bit of money back. If you have any other choice, DON’T stay here. It’s worth it to pay the extra $20 for one of the hotels across the street that is presumably clean.

First off, when we arrived, the lobby reeked, the clerk said ?they? were just smoking (weed) right outside the door! Then the room floor was soaking wet on the carpet, and the walls were patched up with putty. But here's the icing on the cake that made us leave, there was actual human blood on our pillow!!! What's worse is management refused to issue a refund when we decided not to stay there and lied to Expedia about why we left so they kept our moneyplace also has bedbugs and that is not an infestation you want to bring home. All and all, do yourself a favor and stay next door at the Marriott. It's only like $50 more a room but it's like night and day and an amazing experience. I felt safe at the Marriott and at the jfk inn I felt like someone was going to shank me.

The staff is friendly, and the continental breakfast as well stocked, this is an older building. So if your looking for a contemporary type room. Sorry you find that here.

There is bedbugs, smells and very dirty. Guest in 113 ran out of the room when they discovered bedbugs. We had booked 3 rooms and we could not stay because of smells of cigarettes in non smoking room.

I'm a regular at this place traveling frequently to visit my daughter here in Queens from Providence RI. And I'm not understanding how people could say the staff is rude, I FEEL LIKE FAMILY each and every time Im there. Going on about 4 yrs now I'm here at least twice a month and have no complaints.

Granted the decor is a bit out dated but there is NEVER EVER a roach, a bug a rodent nor do I get any itch from sleeping in the beds. The place is clean and is what matters most.

The breakfast baked goods are out of this world and the shuttle is very accommodating.

A dirty, not maintained, old hotel.
In the front of my room's door there was a damaged old office chair and a book shelf cabinet used to store chemicals ans cleaning supplies. The place stunk and the hallway, stairs and room carpet was stained and dirty. I tried removing my socks and had to put them back on as the carpet felt sticking to my feet. The room air conditioner was duct taped, there was plumbing pipes under the desk for about seven ft. and the bathroom walls where it meets the tile was moldered black in three or four corners. At one AM a couple started to argue on the hallway yelling loudly. I waited about fifteen minutes thinking someone from the staff might show up, but then I called, the receptionist mentioned that he might be going to check things out; I expected to be resolved before me calling, but it didn't happen. The dining room is also very old.The computer system was also slow. I waited over thirty minutes to be checked in; I walked in the second person. The "hotel" is non smoking, but it smelled strongly on the hallway and in the room. While waiting to be checked in, I noticed a roach walking out from the dining area into the lobby. I would have left right then, but I arrived at eleven pm tired and already paid online for the room. Close to JFK, but I will never go back there.

Do not book anything at this place. They have a parking lot available for long term parking and shuttle available to JFK. This was the reason we were there. While we waited for the shuttle to arrive we realized there were prostitutes and their pimps all around us. We did not feel safe. It was taking way too long for the shuttle to come and we did not feel safe. We had to leave and make other parking arrangements because we wouldve missed our flight. However, that being said it may have been a blessing in disguise, because we certainly had a very unsettling feeling with everything that was going on around us.

Absolutely awful. I booked this hotel for my sister who had an overnight layover on her way back to South Africa. She called me in tears after dealing with some very abrasive staff. I asked her to detail all these elements so I could somehow hold someone accountable. This is what she had to say:

I was collected swiftly at the shuttle point and on arrival encountered a very friendly and kind gentleman by the name of Matthew. He graciously allowed me to check in early allowing me to put down my luggage in order to see New York. After freshening up I returned to the front desk only to be met by an incredibly hostile gentleman by the name of Peter. Peter is the manager of JFK INN. He refused me any assistance in getting back to the airport and told me the only way was to get a cab at a rate of $50. I pleaded with him for an alternative solution to which he again refused. I decided to take a walk to calm down and on my return I confronted him again to which he gave the same reply. I then made it clear to him that on making the reservation I was told there would be a shuttle at my disposal. After some banter as I could not believe he spoke to his customers in this manner he finally agreed to let me take the shuttle back to the airport. Unfortunately his attitude did not change and I felt undermined as I rushed towards the shuttle. The delay forced me to change my initial plans and was left with only a few hours to take in the city.

It is dirty and has questionable people always around. If I could give a zero or minus star I would. My experience with this establishment was horrible!!!

If we could give this place negative stars we definitely would! We walked into the lobby and there were homeless men sitting on the couches and smoking outside. We got our room key and went up to our room on the third floor. We were immediately hit with the smell of weed and other very pungent smells. We went into our room to find a hole in the ceiling and the bathroom a COMPLETE MESS!!
We immediately booked another room at a different hotel. When we tried to receive a refund through expedia, they informed us that JFK Inn was not giving us a refund even though we never used the room.
I would stay away from this place. It is extremely nasty and in a very rough area. It's not even good for one night!!
