Excellent customer service. There is too much noise at night because is too close to the highway. Rooms are good.
Quick and efficient service, however, breakfast could be better (it is basic bagels and hot coffee). The air freshener in the room was so strong that I could hardly breathe. Not sure why it was necessary: the room was clean and neat, and had no smells that needed killing.
Wow, this place takes one star to a new low, I'd give zero if I could. The staff is down right rude, dim-witted, and I'd even go as far as to say adversarial. We had some issues with my friend's arrival and the type of ID he used to check in. The clerk, who would only identify himself as Paul "K" (he seemed to be use to people asking for his name) refused to accept me emailing a copy of my friend's US ID, he refused my friends foreign ID claiming it was expired not recognizing the date for European IDs is a difference format from the US date format. When we asked that he call the manager, he refused telling us the manager was unavailable. We insisted as he explained the manager would say the same thing. Finally we asked he refund the room as we had bought online and we refused to do that as well. We're filing a charge back with our credit card company but avoid this place at all costs. The staff seemed bothered by having guests.
Nice place. It may not look like much from the outside but it is very clean on the inside. There is parking in the back but if it is full street parking is easy in this neighborhood. The rooms are updated and the beds very comfortable.
My parents booked this hotel for my trip to NY. Came to the hotel from Buffalo. Drove about 7 hours. When I presented my booking number the receptionist said She needs the same credit card that the booking was made from otherwise she wont let me in and turned her back on my at 2am!! I dont even wanna give them one start but there isnt a choice
Everything was nice. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There was a free breakfast and a free shuttle to and from the airport. Overall, affordable. The only reason it isn't five stars is because the rooms were not aesthetically pleasing.
I have stayed for one night. Close place to JFK. Rooms were clean and staff was good. I would recommend for one day or so if you need to be close to JFK.
Clean environment. Staff is friendly and welcoming at the front desk. Rooms look clean. Prices are alright compared the other hotels in the area. A small parking lot is available for customers. I would recommend this Howard Johnson Inn to anyone for a short stay.
I like this inn, enjoy my two nights here ,the front desk is friendly, the driver is friendly, my room is clean ,the soap shampoo are made in USA, good quality. inside room air smells nice. the towels are new and clean, the breakfast fresh , satisfied, I will back next time when I travel stop by JFK .
The hotel itself was clean, the employees were very friendly and helpful but the location of the hotel is quite sketchy, scary and parking is tight. It also didn't have a luggage hold but the employees were fabulous.
Nice staff. Shoutout to Kevin at the front desk. Very helpful!
We got into our tiny, cramped room, more like a closet, and discovered long, dark hairs already in the beds, on the towels some short dark hairs in the tub. One of the lights the switch was broken and to cut it on and off you had to unscrew, or screw in the light bulb. The bathroom faucet leaked water all out of the top of it, all over the counter. We didn't get checked into our room until after 1 an so were too tired to go complain and deal with moving everything to another room with possibly the same situation. I only have it 2 stars, as opposed to one, due to their breakfast, assuming you can fight off the other guests, as well as the employees, to get any, it's a decent breakfast with good bagels.
A very nice place to stay. I would have given 5 if the hotel manager had helped us find our car key which we accidentally dropped in the lift. We had to get a new key made from a lock smith. This place otherwise is good for a stay and is close to airport.
Disappointing given the recent storm in New York, I made a reservation at Howard Johnson JFK to be close to the airport. Fortunately I was able to reschedule my flight last minute with Delta at NO CHARGE, as a result of the flight schedule, I e-mailed Howard Johnson twice to cancel my reservation. I understand no cancellation however, given the situation I would have thought they would be more flexible. Its 5 days later and no response and my credit card was charged in full. I will not and will advise others not to book with Howard Johnson.
