We booked this establishment based off their Web page and hadn't had the chance to visit prior to the event, did all the planning via phone as we were the out of towners. While the decor was charming, the lighting and air conditioning didn't work well. The room got too warm and several lighting fixtures didn't work leaving the gift and cake table in the dark. The food was good but the menu choices available didn't coordinate.
The hor d'oeuvre hour started late and then they pulled the trays early..all in all the place seemed a little run down. I wouldn't recommend this establishment and you don't wanted to be let down on your special day.
We attended my cousin's wedding at Inne of the Abington yesterday. While the outdoor space was pretty and the inside room was nice, the service was terrible. The bartender refused to make a Shirley Temple for my daughter as she said she only had cherry juice for "real drinks." She complained but did make her a slightly pink drink with no cherries in it. The woman serving the food was not friendly and seemed to have no people skills. The young people on the staff were much nicer. We were also there the night before for the rehearsal dinner. The food was very good as they provided a buffet with many choices. The appetizers after the ceremony were very good as well. For the wedding dinner, we chose our meals. I ordered the chicken parm and wish I hadn't. It was so overseasoned the bread coating was green with herbs. It was served with a potato instead of pasta which was strange. A few of my cousins ordered the steak. The steak looked great as it was well done. We didn't order that as we thought that prime rib was served rarer. The steak was very thin and looked more like sirloin steak. I wish we ordered the steak! My father ordered the fish and said it was inedible. I would never recommend this place due to the horrible service and poor quality of food. I wouldn't even want to attend another wedding there.
It was a very small space for a wedding of about 100 people. The venue was nice but the hall was very tight on space.
Awesome quaint reception hall. Beautiful scenery
We booked our daughters wedding right before the news broke out that this owner was against the LGBT community.. We attempted to explain to him that in no way could we support a business this since we love family and friends that are gay. He did not want to hear it. My daughter and son in law went there in person to meet with him. He got bipolar, yes then no, they even had a friend that was having a wedding there that he would not transfer the 1000.00 deposit to. While sitting with them, he must of texted 911. The police came and it was quiet, they came in think there was going to be a murder scene. He was a coward and used the police to say he was done dealing with my daughter.
I them took him to small claims court and he used a Christian attorneys from Florida like it was a trial. I thought it would of been like Judge Judy. The judge could not decide and told us we could file it in the County Court house. This all would of cost us more then the deposit to fight.
I handed it over to God, let him handle it.
We ended up paying more, but blessed with an amazing venue, a cater that folks still talk about the great food.
Yesterday was my daughters first anniversary.
When this all happened I started to hear awful stories about the Inne.
Her day was amazing, thank God not at the Inne of the Abingtons
I've been very happy so far during the wedding planning process w/ the Inne - they have been very personable, and no issues so far.
Why celebrate love in a place filled with such bad energy and hate? Easy answerDON'T!
I used to work at this "fine" establishment. The kitchen is absolutely filthy. I was appalled at how poorly my co-workers treated each other and especially shocked how the customers were treated. The food wasn't the greatest; reminded me of my husband's cooking (sorry honey). I honestly would NOT recommend booking an event here. I had perspective of what truly happens behind the customer's eyes, and let me tell you first hand, it ain't pretty. Hope this helps. ;)
Keep in mind when you read reviews it's usually because someone experienced a service that was either extraordinary, or horrible, that the world needs to hear about it. Nobody really takes the time to write the in between - "yeah I got what I paid for and was satisfied with the level of service" type review. That being said, I was married at the Inne of the Abingtons in July of 2014 and their staff did a really great job!
Our wedding was about 140 people, and we sprung for renting the entire place out anyway. Based on some of the reviews above, maybe this was the way to go. This place delivers a facility for you to celebrate your wedding day at a great price compared to many of it's competitors. Keep in mind they are a business with a small staff, and in most of your cases, you're getting married during their busy season. So if something is absolutely imperative that it goes your, or your better half's way, then it's something you'll stay on top of anyway to make sure that it does. I enjoyed my wedding at the Inne of the Abingtons as I am sure you will too. Good luck in your search!
