Food and experience at Hymans is AMAZING! I brought my family of 20 here and every single one of them was treated like family and could not stop talking about how amazing the food is. We love it! Love from Hickory, NC.

My 1st time but definitely not my last time. The food was absolutely superb and service was great. The owner greeted us and gave me a sweet treat of fried green tomato 💋. Thanks for great dinner.

We had such a great time with friends here! Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the owners are on site making sure everything is running smoothly. We loved it! Absolutely loved the food. Huge portions, even had a lot left over for a whole meal the next day! Highly recommend..only down side was parking, but we found parking in a parking deck about 4 blocks away and was able to walk down and have the whole charleston experience.

Incredibly awesome family run business. We had a group of about 50 tonight. Eli Hyman personally oversaw that everything was perfect. The restaurant was super busy and they made our large group feel like we were their top priority. Such amazing food and and fantastic experience.

The food here is very good as well as the service. (The coleslaw here is amazing. It has a unique taste because it has sweet pickles in it.) Drink prices were good. The moonshine margaritas are MUST have! Will definitely eat here when I come to Charleston in the future.

    Incredible!
Service is responsive without being intrusive. The owner came to our table not only to check on us but also to show appreciation for our patronage.
The food is amazing! The hush puppies are the best I've ever had anywhere! My wife had a crab and shrimp dip (I'm allergic to shrimp and didn't have any). She couldn't stop talking about it. I had salmon croquettes which were delicious! I had the whole fried flounder and the chef who brought it out assured me it had been cooked separately from anything else that had touched shrimp.
Absolutely no way to justify any criticism of this place. Hyman's is a must when visiting Charleston.

I read a few of the reviews and, since I wasn't in a hurry (being on a Saturday night), decided to try it out. It was just me, so I got a spot at the bar. My server Carissa was efficient yet friendly and helped a chaotic atmosphere become fun & cozy. I ordered the Carolina dinner, or something like that - an amazing twist on shrimp & grits (got salmon on mine!) that I can't wait to have again!! Other guests were asking what I'd ordered because it looked (& tasted) so good!

This is a favorite BY FAR! If you're in Charleston, give it a chance! Don't be put off by a wait as they move rather quickly. The food is fantastic and the service is out of this world. Mr. Hyman personally came to our table to check on us and saw my 2 year old only picking the cheese off her food (she decided that was all she wanted) so he literally went to the kitchen and made her melted cheese on a bun! We stop here whenever we're in the area. Some personal favorites are the shrimp and grits, ribs, rock shrimp, and fried green tomatoes! Enjoy :)

What a wonderful place to dine! First of all, we must have had the best waitressKatie. She welcome us and highlighted items on the menu. She quickly took our beverage order and brought us boiled peanuts. Our GIGANTIC orders of a plethora seafood arrivedcan't beat those shrimp n grits and crab cakes. It was a spectacular experience for all. Thank you.

I have never had seafood this amazing! The fried green tomatoes are a must and the assortment of shellfish! The waitress we had was so fun and attentive! She made sure we never ran out of anything also I was very pleased that the manager went to every table to make sure we were all satisfied and made small take with us as well and told us the history behind his restaurant. Although we did wait almost an hour on a busy Saturday it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! We can't wait to visit again soon!

Food was great. It was very busy. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait to be seated but we actually only waited about 10 minutes. Everyone was friendly. I liked how the owners were out on the floor engaged with the staff and the customers. Food was served quickly, was delicious, and we had enough to ask for take out boxes. Will definitely return on our next visit to Charleston.

Great environment! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Our waiter Max was fun and helpful. The food was AWESOME! Reasonably priced for local seafood. Bourbon salmon was fantastic. The owner Eli was also very nice.
