This place was really sweet. The food was very good, waitress Maria was very knowledgeable and attentive. There was actually a golden ticket under my napkin set up so I got my meal for free!! Pretty cool. I would go back.

I come here virtually every time I am in Winston Salemdining room food is excellent and the service is always really great and friendly. The bar area is funky and I love sitting outside for the people (and dog) watching.

My girlfriend's family came here for Thanksgiving lunch. Last year, her grandfather passed away, and this lunch was meant to take the burden of cooking a Thanksgiving meal off of her Grandmother. The service they received was "snooty", and they food arrived cold, on a warm plate, indicating it had been made before the order was placed and heated in a microwave. While this is normal in restaurants on days that are supposed to be busy - at $30 a plate, I don't think it's asking too much to receive warm, properly cooked food. The result of the cold food and poor service left her whole family without an appetite, and they left having eaten a total of ten bites between the four of them. For the reputation this restaurant seems to "want" to have, it is unacceptable to me to have customers leaving with an experience like this. So, if you want a recommendation from me, I would have to advise you to look elsewhere.

Staff is always so friendly, and very knowledgeable about the wine and food choices. Prices are reasonable for a downtown spot, a little bit of everything to choose from. Every Wednesday is 1/2 price bottles of wine.

The pilot wings are one of the most under-appreciated menu items in the city.

El Kentucky is great but order it as a wrap.

    Order the Pimento Cheese pizza.

    Great brunch place.

Staff pulled a chair out from under my friend. Terrible staff! Absolutely rude and unprofessional. I set down a beer for a friend of mine and it happened to foam up, I was yelled at for "beer checking". Following this a friend of mine went to sit down to chat up a friend where a staff member pulled a chair out from under him and told him to leave. Absolutely disgusting service. Would never recommend to anyone. Bouncers also tried to instigate a fight with a less than professional customer that night. Management needs to reconsider their staff.

Excellent atmosphere and food. My wife had the shrimp and grits. I had the steak and seafood sauce. Will definitely come back! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

I have been a fan of this establishment for years. I've hosted several birthday dinners, business meetings, and Sunday afternoon brunches here. Whenever someone would come in town, I would always suggest Hutch & Harris. This is the reason why I made the suggestion when a friend came in town in mid January.

We went on a Saturday night and of course it was busy. From the initial greeting at the door, the service was cold. However, because I patronize this business so frequently, I stayed. After ordering our food, the manager/owner (not sure who she was) came to our table and said that we needed to leave her restaurant. I genuinely thought she was joking. She said that she would not allow us to talk to her customers like that. I asked her what in the world was she talking about because I was clueless. She said that a customer told her that we were saying derogatory things to her as she ate. Keep in mind we'd only been there all f 15 minutes and we'd only talked to one another.

The first of her many mistakes that night was not asking us about the situation, but automatically assuming that we'd done something. The next mistake was she made the statement that she didn't do it because we were black because her grandfather is black. (I hadn't brought race up, she opened the door). And finally to add salt to an open womb, she offered us a free appetizer for her horrible and unprofessional behavior.

To her surprise, I did not act in a disruptive manner. I said what I had to say and immediately left the restaurant. Beyond this racially motivated experience, the most disheartening part of it all is that I had a 19 year old mentee with me. When we got to the car she burst out in tears. She said that she'd never experienced racism in that manner and it made her feel like nothing. No one she ever feel like that. The same way I sent many to this establishment in the past is the same way I've shared this story many times to assure that the people I love and care about will not spend their money here!

I would not recommend going. It took an hour to get two sandwiches. And they didn't even have what I asked for! They came back 30 minutes later and decided to tell us that they were out of crab meat. Never again!

The food was amazing although the portions were huge. I recommend sharing. We went on a Saturday evening with no reservation and had to sit in the lounge. I wondered why since all the tables were empty, but when we left they were packed. Our server Andrew was attentive and professional. I wish they had more outdoor tables, but a very pleasant dining experience!

Love this place. The food is fantastic, the drinks are absolutely delightful and service is typically good. If you're looking for a good place to grab a nice lunch, brunch, dinner or just some cocktails at the bar, this is the joint for you. Great atmosphere. Brunch is our favorite, but I love going here all the time.

I'm a self proclaimed foodie. When I go to a place that prides itself on uniqueness, I want to be wowed. I've only been to H&H once. I was not wowed. I had the Soft Taco Tuesday on a Monday. The "Latin" pork, as described, is no more Latin than my husband's German Grandmother. The tacos were dripping grease from the sauce and the flour tortillas just sat in it on the plate. I've had better barbecued pork from a frozen bowl at my local grocer. The "Carolina slaw" on top was far from Carolina style. The only taste was the bite of pepper. The H&H fries are mere potato wedges, but, they were crunchy on the outside and soft inside.
The service was good and I did like the atmosphere of the dining room. I would try it again but I won't get my hopes up.
