My wife and I love La Carretas resaurants. We have been eating at their various locations since 1993. The service is great. The atmosphere is casual and fun. The decor is nice I love the painted scenes of Mexico. The wait staff is always appropriately attentive; checking if you need refills or anything else. Salsa and chips arrive to your table almost immediately upon being seated. The menu choices are plentiful and varied. Food is usually hot and served without undue waiting. It has been our favorite Restaurant since moving to the Winkston-Salem area in 1993. Thank you to all of the Staff for great food and service over the years. Damon and Jan

Seriously, there isn't a Mexican place around here that stands out. They are all the same, all very americanized. This place has shots of tequila for 4 bucks though, even top shelf.

Express to the manager or the person taking money how dissatisfied I was and he showed little or no concern whatsoever. It was the worst service I've ever had there. The food was even tasteless today.. I ordered two bowls of the cheese sauce witches terribly expensive for a small amount and they seem like they want to ration and not let you have any chips to dip it in.

Everything was amazing and the staff is so friendly. I walked in after seven with three hungry young boys and they got us a seat at the bar as it was really busy on a week night. The boys aren't super fond of Mexican, but it was mom's choice, and they loved it and wanted to come back! The owner really gave us a lot of nice attention and made our dinner out a wonderful experience.

Historically one of my favorite restaurants but not today. I've given great reviews in the past but they completely failed this time. They did not get my order right to start with then it wasn't even good. The chicken was tough and chewy and the fajitas just went good at all. Then to top it off the service was even worse. He barely spoke to me, got my order wrong then ignored me. I flagged him down for a napkin then he never came back. If I come back it will be a long time.
