I don't know if they've changed their chef or changed their menu but the food definitely tasted different than many visits in the past and not for the better. The grilled Romaine Caesar salad really didn't have much flavor and neither did my smoked gouda shrimp and grits. I love that dish and get it every time I come to the restaurant so it's really disappointing when it doesn't taste how you expect it. The guest I was dining with also ordered a salad with one request, no onions. And of course the salad comes out with onions. The whole meal is blah and Willows used to be one of my favorite places.

Went on a Sunday for brunch with family that was recommended to us. Had a Bloody Mary that was straight from a bottle of bought pre-mix, no seasonings or even pepperso unspectacular.
The food prices were on the average for a restaurant in the downtown area. The quality of food is hard to grade. The preparation of the food was spot on, so no issues with the prep. The ingredients of every dish just has WAY to much happening. I understand trying to offer a unique take on traditional dishes, but it ended up being too much and made the food rather bland. I had the fried chicken sandwich special but with a twist. The main ingredients comprised of the chicken breast fried but with green tomatoes, pimento cheese and a fried egg along with a sauce and lettuce. I was expecting something uniquely interesting and left somewhat disappointed on the flavors. The ingredients really cancelled each other out and left me with a nicely cooked chicken breast with what tasted like grocery store bought pimento cheese spread. The house chips appetizer was good but pricey for what you get. Also tried the baked brie appetizer and it was alright, again not spectacular. I saw the chicken and waffles and it looked ok. Saw some of the open face omelets, said to be ok. Another at our table got the half rack of ribs, looked good and said to be decent. The best looking item I saw was the fried green tomato blt sandwich and the pasta salad. Worth a one time try I guess but nothing special and doubt I'd go again for the price/food quality comparison.
Service was good, knowledgeable staff but drink cups did sit empty during the meal for sometime on half our table of 10 people.response / report this review -

This place is phenomenal! The artisan deliciois farm to table food. Truly hand crafted cocktails. Even an amazing craft beer list. Lovely atmosphere featuring local artist that is perdect for dining.

First time going there. Ordered the handmade chips with goat cheese.got about 1/3rd of the way in and it had hair all in it 😩😝😲 Staff immediately replaced it but still charged us for it 😒 the shrimp rissoto was too watery and the ribs weren't what we were accustomed to. Liked the atmosphere and the location, plus outdoor seating is available. (We sat inside at a 2 top right next to the entrance). Staff super nice, but food wasn't good. Will NOT be going back

Unique cocktails, great fresh local food and friendly people. Great seasonal menu specials and old menu favorites. Love the open kitchen to see the action and how beautiful all the food is. Unfortunately it's pretty inconsistent. I've had some great food here or overpriced average food and food soaked in oil. Stay away from any "market priced" dishes. $10 for a scallop is a reach here

The house made chips were an AMAZING appetizer, so delicious. I also loved the brick chicken! It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the mashed potatoes with it were also delicious. I can't wait to go back! Beautiful place and love the outdoor seating
