Dirty socks found in room in plain sight, Continental breakfast was a joke, they didn't keep stuff stocked and we were yelled at when asked if they could restock. Rude employees. The only plus side was decent pillows and lots of hot water.

The room smelled very bad, the carpet was dirty, the bath was very small and not pleasant , the light from the bathroom had difficulties to turn on, at breakfast there were not enough chairs for the guests, I had to eat breakfast standing, there was a long line, and some arrived later and they collected all and did not allow them to have breakfast, they were not really considered with those people, somebody complained about breakfast, and they were treated rude by the front desk staff, they were not professional; juice was spilled on the floor and the staff cleaned with a towel, instead of using the appropriate utensils. the only thing I liked was that there was good hot water pressure.

Disgusting, garbage, and the staff are as bad as their rooms the health inspector should close down with all the that guess are exposed.. I would put 0 starts but it doesn't allow me. But here is proof of one of their room if you have plans to come down I would recommend to get your money back

It was really noisey in the night because of the cars and AC didn't work. The room smelled like disgusting paint. Breakfast was in a crowded room.

Nice hotel, needs some updating. Everything worked, just a bit outdated. Nice looking on the outside, nice layout. Good price, good staff. No problems, would stay again.

If you work on the freeway, you expect to hear the sound of rumbling trucks at all hours. If you trying to get to sleep in a hotel however, having a truck Rumble by every 30 seconds slamming on the brakes or downshifting right outside your window makes it kind of hard to sleep. as for the breakfast, we received a glorious Testament to refined sugar and carbohydrates. The only protein to be found was in the milk, and for a diabetic like me, this was an unacceptable nightmare. Irrated somewhere between "you get what you pay for", and "we tried".

Door lock doesn’t work well , curtains are loose at the top, table dirty, rugs with stains , TV volume did not work , Kleenex on the floor at bed side .
Toilet tank running water , bathroom floor dirty, electric cables from lamps and TV hanging from a multi outlet. Dirty areas , entrance hallway and stairs. Poor maintenance and unkept property.
It’s sad because it has the Howard Johnson name , we looked forward for a nice clean place .

I called and the girl on the phone was very nice, my room was nice and clean. It was quiet and the employees had super good service.

Area is convenient and it was quiet. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean. Pool was clean and its a plus that is open till midnight but no supervision. Spanish girl in front desk nice but Manager has a funky little actitude. Staff that cleans extremely nice!!!

You have to be very careful because there are two Howard Johnson's in St. Augustine. The one we stayed at (off of I95) was amazing. Fresh paint everywhere, new furniture, clean sheets and covers that seemed BRAND NEW! The room we stayed in was on the 2nd floor and the whole experience was nice. I think some people reviewing this one are actually talking about the other one! And I have seen the same pictures on both hotels. We drove by the one downtown and It look nowhere near as nice as the one off I95! It was right down the road from IHOP and KFC was right across the street. Also there are two outlet malls nearby, so we did some shopping as well. After a string of not so great hotels on our road trip, this one what a breath of fresh air! Wish there was a way you could see the difference between the two hotelssee pictures below of our room and stay.

Check in was so eazy. Friendly staff. I wish I knew what beds they had in my room because now I want one in my home, it was so comfortable and helped my back. The breakfast was a hot breakfast, with waffles, oatmeal, cereal and fresh fruit, ect. Along with juice and coffee. The room was beautiful, clean, and I didn't want to leave. My 12 year old son enjoyed the pool. It was clean and looked after pretty well. This will be the hotel I stay at for many more trips to come.

Check-in was simple. Rooms had nice furniture but the pillows were horrible and thefloor was so FILTHY our feet were BLACK. No kidding. Disgusting. The fan is really loud but that's normal. There was a lot of noise outside the room very early Sunday morning. I did notify the front desk about the filthy floor during checkout and was given an apology but that's it. Disappointed

There was sand in the bottom of the shower. The shower also wouldn't stay at a constant temperature for more than 1.5 minutes. They only provided two towels, which one have been fine had I not had to clean out the shower before using it. The bed was super hard. The location was fine. The ceiling was cracked and, overall, the decor was dated. That being said, the front desk staff was so sweet and it was a the tiniest bit cheaper than nearby hotels. Even still, would likely not return.
