Nice room, but they put us below a room that is being remodeled so for the past 2 hrs we've had to listen to banging and drilling. We called the front desk and weren't offered another room or a discount not thrilled with their customer service.
simple, clean, newly renovated. well priced. front desk helpful.
Staying here through the weekend; attending the NY Sheep & Wool Festival. 4 stars for service: front desk associate was very helpful pre-assigning rooms so we didn't have to change rooms (we had two separate reservations). When we got to our room, one of the cleaning staff said it wasn't ready, so he let us in a nearby, ready room and went to the front desk to get us new keys! All the staff we have met have been very friendly. The rooms are maybe 3.5 stars. They are brightly painted, clean, tidy. Our room has a large mini fridge, microwave and a coffee pot -- we have utilized all of these amenities; all are clean and functional. The biggest mark against the room is the bathroom. There's a mildewy smell and the ceiling tiles are clearly bowed from taking on water. There's also a vent that is non-functional-- and clearly has been so for awhile. Consider staying here if in need of basic lodgings that won't break the bank.
Actually quite surprised by how nice this place is! Looks like they just remodeled everything. The rooms are clean as well as the bathrooms. There's a nice little dinner next door that is connected to the hotel and the food was good. The girl at the front desk was very nice and the cost is reasonable. Will definitely start staying here more often.
Shouldn't even get one star. This place is disgusting. Obviously I checked into a dirty room. There are cigarette burns all over the comforters. Blood all over my bathtub that I had to clean myself. Bloodied tissues behind the toilet bowl. Black mold in the bathtub, and on the carpet next to the fridge. This place needs to be shut down. Please don't stay here if you have a family. Multiple people were changing rooms when I went downstairs to discuss with them the problems with my room, and low and behold there was NOTHING they could do for me. I love it. The manager isn't even in today. I'm currently stuck in the horrible place. If you do come here don't stay in room 220. Next door there is someone who has this whole place smelling like a curry restaurant so bad that the whole hallway smells. It's over powering. My room smells like stale cigarettes and curry. Gross.
Very clean room! Outside temps in the 90's and air conditioning worked great. Heated pool was nice temperature. Very quiet.
We stayed at the Howard Johnson after first trying to stay at the Comfort Inn next door (no one was at reception after 5 minutes and I got tired of waiting). This hotel was about $40 cheaper than the Comfort Inn, but I was worried it would be far inferior. Not so! The room we were in was very nice and seemed to have been recentlly renovated. The room was clean and all the furniture was in great condition. The hotel itself is a bit older and not so nice and there is no complementary breakfast so that was why I knocked a star off, but in all honesty I think I would stay here again without hesitation.
The staff was extremely friendly! It's right off the exit so that's a plus. The rooms are so so Needs an update for sure.
It was clean, quiet, and large enough to support big groups coming up for an overnight ski trip. Can't say I would choose to stay in a Howard Johnsons for such a trip, but it worked out and was cheap. The diner which was attached had good prices, didn't get to really try out the food as our group had a buffet.
Great place to stay when visiting the slopes in the area. It's not terribly expensive and the room was clean and well kept.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was clean, large rooms, nice bathroom and friendly staff. I had not problems or issues here and recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
