Our room was very well turned out when we arrived. We were feeling under the weather, so decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. With a limited menu, it threatened to be unexciting, but the dining room ambience was pleasantly laid back and the decor exotic, and the food we had was very good.
The room is very comfortable, the staff extremely nice and friendly. Decoration in the room, including most of the fixtures is from mid 1900's which gives it a nice and pleasant retro environment. Everything is clean and cozy.
It was a nice hotel and very clean. The location was very good and the staff was wonderful. The only thing that really detracted from the whole experience was the house keeping service and maintenance staff would knock on your door every few minutes starting after 7am. We invited them inside, but upon opening the door, they would refuse to come in and say they'd come back later. We put a do not disturb sign on the door prior to leaving, but it was obvious that they still came in even with the sign. Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying and it makes you wonder what the purpose of the come back later sign really is.
It was a great place to stay. Within walking distance of the memorials and White House. Friendly staff. Very clean. Would defiantly recommend.
Hotel is very historic. It's almost like a trip through time. The staff has been very friendly. We spent one night in the lobby until 1:30 a.m. awaiting a pizza delivery and had a very nice talk with the staff. The rooms are clean and well-kept. Only gripe is the low number of outlets and the small elevators.
The service was very good and we enjoyed the location. It's one of the reasons we chose Hotel Lombardy; It has a quaint feel. There's a mini-fridge with drinks for sale inside the room. We're glad we didn't have food that needed to be refrigerated, but the hotel does have ice. We had a good overnight stay.
My wife and I just returned from a five day four night stay over the July 4th Weekend holiday. The Lombardy Hotel is a beautifully maintained hotel staffed with exceptional concierge. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. We were treated as honored guests. It was an exceptional value and we will be staying at The Lombardy during our next trip to D.C.
Cute cozy hotel in a great location. Fixtures were great. Weirdly no iron in the room. Bed was a little hard for us. The air conditioning control kept the room cool, but could have been cooler.

I checked in about 12:30am, when I got to my room, which are quaint and beautiful, the room was 76 degrees, which made it quite warm. No matter what I tried to do the temp wouldn't change. I called the front desk, and they moved me to a room that was much better. Today this room is also very warm. It is my understanding that DC is having unseasonably warm temps, so I think maybe the AC in this hotel is having to work a little harder. The temp brought down the hotel one star, otherwise would have been a 4. Great location and historic rooms with modern amenities.
Two of us had breakfast there this morning. Food was fine. Without advising us, they added an 18% gratuity to the bill! The charge slip had a space to add a gratuity (and did not say "additional gratuity"). Very unusual for a "nice" hotel.
Hotel Lombardy is a beautiful historic hotel. The room are very nice and the hotel is located across the street from a nice little shopping center. The air conditioning doesn't work that well though. It stayed about 75 in my room all day and it was 85 outside.
