Before the merger I would have given them 5 stars. I had recieved excellent care when I went there for several strokes and other things. I am happy to say i have mended from the strokes.I was pleased with Holy Spirit for about 5 years that I had gone there which was before the merger. I have been there since the merger with Geisinger and I find that the nurses are not as happy or spontneous. They do things by the book which is of course good but the ones I had since are more stern, no joking about anything which in some circumstances helps to calm a person down and I felt like I should not have come there because I am too much bother. A doctor at Holy Spirit sent me home saying there was nothing wrong with me. I ended up elsewhere after i called my doctor and said I was sent home. I went back perhaps 2 more times. I did make a complaint which I was treated with respect. The food was excellent. It is freshly brought to you when you order it. Plentyful plus they call you if you did not order yet. No complaints there There are really more good than bad people here. I am hoping if I need a hospital again I get the good ones I had as an inpatient. It was the ER doctors who were most likely frazzeled and who were not friendly.
Avoid this place at all costs. They can't tell a broken arm from a healthy one. You'll also wait for hours in the waiting room with no updates.
Unbelievable how rude these nurses and dr's are..i hope i never have to come here..just nasty people..they piss u off as soon as u walk thru the door..contorted faces..frowns..sarcasm..
During my stay here for about 3 days and on the 4th floor the nurses were very nice and checked on me constantly to see how my pain was and if i needed anything. The food that they have was good quality and quantity. The doctors were also very on point and polite as well and stopped by my room often. My leg is actualy giving me problems again and i will be heading back to Holy Spirit in Camp Hill today to see what is going on. But yes 4 stars from me for sure. Good hospital and good people running it!!!!
I had my child through HSH and I loved them. They were so nice and checked on me frequently. I'm pregnant again and I am going back. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because of the free food they give you after giving birth being pretty much gross. And there was one nurse that wasn't the greatest, but I've found that it's like that at any hospital and it's more of a personality thing than something to blame the hospital for.
Waited 8 hours in ER and did not get clear explanation from Doctor on what was going on with my daughter. Last nurse was not even sure that daughter should go because doctor did not leave instructions. Doctor was incompetent. Nurses did not wear gloves when putting in and removing IV, thought they were taught to use universal precautions. Could be wrong on that one though. My daughter has had multi test done at Holy Spirit, we were happy with that part of the hospital. We will never go to ER again ever. 8 hours wasted in the ER with no explanation, nothing!!
Horrible. Staff was rude towards my wife. She has a swollen throat and we waited2 hours. N she asked when she would be seen they said she was last in line. If something happened to my wife who is a mother to our baby girl i would have sued
I have nothing but praise for the employees here. I was treated with such respect. Always smiling and uplifting. Never felt I was bothering anyone. I was in room 738 I had a nurse Kiley who I will never forget. That goes for all, very refreshing.
I would not even take my dog here. This hospital is the worst hospital ever. Been waiting to be seen since 10:30!! blaming it on the new system that they had training on and have help to assist if needed. this place is better off being a morgue then it is a hospital. Even after 5pm still waiting to be seen. Worthless no good for nothing place!
I went to the emergency room after my doctor said I had pneumonia. They were working on it and it was difficult to find. When I finally got there the waiting area was a mess, staff were in very cramped quarters and their attitude toward patients matched the appearance of the area. They quickly got my financial information but it took longer to get my vitals, however no one ever even listed to my chest, which is why I was there. A nurse tried to take a blood sample, but it was done poorly. Nurses were eating while they were working. I will NEVER go there again-I'm incredibly disappointed!!!!!!
There is much room for improvement. My grandmother came into the ER last week with O2 stats in the 70s. After she was triaged, she waited an additional two hours in the waiting room before they gave her oxygen. She had multiple PE. Your ER staff dropped the ball on this one. Don't worry- we'll be contacting you to discuss her "experience" with you in detail as well as Medicare and her private insurance company. Her "experience" didn't get any better after she was admitted if you're looking for a hospital, only choose Holy if you can fully advocate for yourself. I wish I was there to speak up and push for the appropriate care. I can only imagine what others have experienced here.
