Entering this hotel it looks gorgeous. We are top level Spire Elite members and had requested early check in. We was told we would be given complimentary champagne on arrival, with free valet parking, free breakfast, and complimentary drinks vouchers. We were never passe champagne, had to ask for the drinks vouchers. Rooms are on the smaller side but that is expected from an older hotel. Again plugs are limited in room but expected within older building. Staff at reception felt put out that we had arrived early and appeared thrown by that. Went to the bar later that night to get our drinks and it felt the bartender also felt put out that we wanted serving. Honestly if want a IHG hotel in Kansas city downtown area I think next time I would go back to the Crowne Plaza hotel next door. Gym felt basic the weights machine didn't seem to work. Hotel is lovely but I don't think I will use this one again.

Very nice hotel located in down town Kansas City. Walking distance to Power & Light and a lot of entertainment venues. The room was very modern looking but showing it's age just because of how old the building is. The pillows were not comfortable at all way too soft. We had a great view of the convention center Christmas lights. Room came with free breakfast (meh) and valet parking.

A nice little hotel. Not very expensive and close to downtown. The kc street car is very close to the hotel. Union Station is about 2 miles away. The staff was great. My room was always clean when I retired back to the hotel after a day out. It would have been good if they had some better menu options.

Small rooms no complementary breakfast but complementary champagne on arrival was kinda nice. Beds are comfy. Strange banging below our room in the middle of the night. Loud late night neighbors. Nice old beautiful architecture inside and out. Water pressure in sink is excessive but easy to barely turn on to achieve perfect pressure without spraying yourself. Double headed shower. No hot tub or pool :( very nice staff. Be sure to put do not disturb on door to prevent house keeping from inquiring about cleaning your room in the morning. Breakfast buffet was 16 each, we arrived hour before quit serving everything was cleaned out and biscuits took forever to make. Oh well.

This hotel's art deco and staff make it amazing! The rooms are cute and the beds are extremely comfortable. The rooms aren't huge but they make the best if the space and everything (& everyone) is very welcoming. The champagne check in was an added bonus!
I left off one star because the rooms and halls are old. They have made the most of what they are working with but we could here the loud people across the hall from within our room & the gap around the door was pretty severe. You could see into the hallway. Even with that said, I will happily stay here again!response / report this review -

Good location in proximity to the Convention Center. Relatively close to a lot of restaurants. The rooms are really small. The bathrooms are also. Neat, historical building with it being an old Post Office, so that adds a touch of nostalgia. The restaurant on the bottom floor is good quality but takes an extended period to get your order. The staff is very nice/friendly. All facilities were ok on cleanliness, but not normal Holiday Inn cleanliness. I would come back to stay here, I think, especially if the prices were less expensive as was the case on this trip. I wouldn’t pay more for this room than a room next door at the Marriott.

Convenient location in an old, historic hotel. The rooms were small and the bathrooms could use an update. Friendly staff and easy parking in a public garage directly across the street. Great place to stay if you are attending a function or event in the downtown Power and Light District or Convention Center.

The location is fairly easy to get to. There is a parking garage across the street with a $12 daily fee. The elevator is small, unable to comfortably hold more that 3-5 people. The room we stayed in was comfortable and spacious. It was also clean and had no unusual smells. The view out of the window was great at night as we gazed upon lit up downtown KC.

Cool art deco building. Great location. Hilarious characters at the bar, although the bartender is basically incompetent. Tiny rooms and not the most up to date. No fridge, so not conducive to drinking or having leftovers. I enjoyed the towels shaped like an elephant.

The location is ideal: it has been nice to be close to so many restaurants downtown. The rooms are very clean. The one con is that there is no refrigerator. The service has been excellent. There are vouchers for a tasty cooked to order breakfast: my 3 egg omelet was good!

This hotel is a beautiful old building. Everything has been nicely updated. Others have complained of small rooms but what do you expect from a 100ish year old hotel? The rooms are nice and have plenty of space to sleep. You know, what a hotel is for. The staff have all been very nice and helpful. The lady at the front desk offered to comp our valet parking sice we had to park 8 or so blocks away.

The Aladdin was super cool. It was a modern take on classic hotels. The room was a bit smaller than expected but once I got used to it, it was great. The hotel workers were very nice and I would definitely stay here again. Great experience.

Easy to find. Parking garage right across the street, though they have no official arrangement with the Aladdin, and Aladdin has no official parking elsewhere, so if that garage is full, good luck. Check in was fast and simple. Front desk staff is nice and helpful. Bar tender on the second floor could use some customer service lessons, as he's kind of rude. We were the only ones sitting at the bar and we had never been here before to give him any chance to not like us and he was still a little rude to us. No idea why. Other reviews mention the same thing, and I usually doubt most of them of that nature, but unfortunately in this case they're true, at least with this guy, a taller gentleman with dark hair. Accommodations are pretty standard. Surprisingly standard, in fact. From the curb, the hotel looks quite nice and interesting. Once in the room I noticed sticky cup and glass rings all over the table, the toilet doesn't flush completely, and the shower drain can't keep up with the shower, so I end up standing in a couple of inches or more of water. I didn't have time to ever give them a chance to address these issues, which isn't completely fair, so just be aware of that.
