Stayed here a couple days ago and for the first time it was a good experience. Hotel staff was friendly and the front desk explained everything to me during check in. I had requested to check in early when I made the reservation and when I check in at 10:30am there was a room ready for me which I was pleased that my request was met. One of the housekeepers gave us extra towels and was very friendly. The room was very big and clean. My only nitpicking is it could use some updates, bathroom is quite small for the size of the actual room and the tv could be better. However, the pros were it had a mini fridge with a microwave and a coffeemaker and if you’re going to Universal the hotel is literally right across the street. You can see it from the parking garage. Location was a huge plus for us and for the price of the room and where it’s at it totally works. Will stay here again for my future trips.

Room was clean nice furniture. Great location.

My only complaint is there was one person at the front desk that lied to me multiple times. First cartoon network was the only channel that didn't work. When I asked about it, I was told "the cable company is working on the service it will be back up shortly" the following day it still was not up. I asked each of the five days I was there same response. Might have been true but no cable company leaves service down for a week. The second was when a key to the room was lost. They immediately made a replacement key. I was concerned about the now lost key that would get a stranger in my room. I was told "I have deactivated the lost key" there were three keys so how do you know what one. He responded "how would they know what room its for". I was never able to ask a manager to fix it. Luckly we found the lost key. Guess what it worked.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was clean. 15 minute WALK from Universal! So great. Don't bother taking the shuttle, it will be just as fast or faster to walk. It's like 3 blocks til you are in the park! Amazing location!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for a weekend in May, first check in went smoothly, Lobby was nice with the exception of the dollar store decorations. After check in we had get tickets for the shuttle for the next morning, waited in line for 45 minutes and there was only one person in front of us. Then oh the timeshare salesman, while waiting in line for the bus ticket, he tries to be your best friend and push you to stay at the timeshare at some point. Ugh…..well we finally made it to the room, we had a suite because there was 5 of us. Wow was I disappointed in the room, the furniture was well warn, curtains had holes in them, then the smell…. smells like the AC has never been cleaned very musty smell. The bathroom had mold in the grout, there was no lock for the bathroom. Totally disappointed in Holiday inn! On the plus side the kids do eat free at the Friday’s that is attached to the hotel. Dinner was good, breakfast was ok. See the pictures I uploaded! There are better hotel options out there in my opinion.

Update. Tried several time to talk to manager. Never called back.

Very convenient with free shuttle to Universal or you can walk. Got a free upgrade to a large 2 bedroom suite. It was amazing. Comfy beds, quiet, nice outdoor pool. Lobby has terrific gift shop. TGIF Restaurant is attached. Easy parking too.

Cant say enough about our outstanding experience at Holiday Inn and Suites at Universal. Hurricane evacuation is stressful at best. First off a third party verified rooms for us and charged us in advance but Holiday Inn had no rooms so denied the reservation. Third party did not tell us and charged us anyway!! (We are in dispute with them). However, the wonderful Ciara (not sure if spelling right) took pity on us and made sure we had a place at Holiday Inn to ride out the storm. She really went above and beyond, exceeding our expectations. The weather was getting pretty nasty when we arrived about 12:30 pm. We didn't feel we could wait any longer but Raphael
Welcomed us and made us feel safe and at home. He was great! At Friday's in all the craziness I left my purse. The waitress (don't know name turned it in and it was safely locked in the managers office when I frantically returned. I say three for three! Nice job!

Room was okay. Bathroom is small. You can order adjacent rooms with door in between. A/C works fine. Walk to Universal Studios is about 15-20 minutes depending on the long traffic lights. Make sure you follow the sidewalk path and backtrack the way back (use the valet parking exit from the park). There is also a free shuttle bus which you should reserve a day before if you want the early ones. If you have a car, I recommend driving to the park after 6pm for free parking (check current policy). They offer free meal to children 12 and under with an adult meal purchased at TGIF with voucher from the hotel. The restaurant is connected to the hotel. The hotel has laundry room for $2 wash and dry each. The room has a mini fridge and a microwave. Room was adequately cleaned. TV was small (maybe 32 in) and has HBO. They have an outdoor pool which has a deep section (8 feet). Staff was friendly. Free wifi was good.

Nice room. Soft and comfy bed. A little dirty in hallways, needed vacuumed om, but it is a hotel near Universal Studios parks so lots of families and kids. Otherwise nice staff and great shuttle to and from area attractions. The only negatives were they put us in the room (301) right next to service area. It is designated a handicap room although we did not request such (may have been only room available. Loud humming and scraping of machines during the night. Also when you walk out towards back of the hotel they have the smoking area right on the path. Had to cover my nose just to get through it and get to our car.

Giving 2 stars because the hotel is very much out dated and needs to be remodeled. We stayed here using points but if I paid money I would have complained. I'm sure once upon a time this hotel was very nice but not anymore. The staff was very friendly to us and we really enjoyed the kids eat free next door to at the Friday's restaurant. We also really loved having the 2 bedroom suite - it's very roomy. The beds are really comfortable. But that's all that was pleasant for us. As soon as we walked in we noticed all the carpets were very stained and gross - definitely needs to be replaced. The kitchen appliances were broken, rusted, and extremely old. Both of the bathrooms were filthy and moldy. One tub even had leftover hair not cleaned out. The shower heads had build up grossness where the water comes out. They have an old looking thermostat that controls the air. The cleaning staff put trash behind plants at the end of the hall. The toilet paper holder was even gross and the locks on the bathroom handles were out and stuffed with toilet paper. We were sold on staying here because it's right across from Universal and they offer a shuttle to and from. HORRIBLE! They don't tell you that you have to reserve a spot in the morning for the next day because they book up quickly. They also only run every hour and pick up about 5/6 other hotels so you'll never get a seat. We had smaller children and a stroller so this was difficult for us. The buses are even run down and felt gross. We won't stay here again. I like to feel clean and relaxed while on vacation - not stressed and annoyed.

So convenient being right across the street from Universal! They gave us a free upgrade to the family suite which gave us so much more room than your standard hotel room. Tour services are right inside the hotel so you can get your arrangements done before you even leave the hotel. And the free shuttle was awesome as well. Will definitely be back!

The location was great, it was near fun spot and Universal. I will say buses do have trouble getting in. The hotel served breakfast but I believe only for groups. The food was nice, it wasn't the best in the world but it was enough to get you going. The rooms were small but good. Each one has a bathroom, two queen beds, a TV, two chairs (one office and one just for relaxing), a desk, and one drawer (had an alarm clock and a Bible). The beds were very comfortable and made you fall asleep with in 10 minutes. The bathroom was ok, the shower was a bit disappointing because the water didn't come out that well. Pretty much it was like when you turned the sink on just enough that it had just one tiny stream coming out. Of course this had multiple streams but it could've been better. For you guys bummed about the breakfast the hotel was literally right next to some restaurants. The workers were nice, they really respected you and we're always ready to help. Overall, it's worth staying here even though it does have its problems.

My family and I stayed there for our spring break this March. Overall we had a great experience. Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. We arrive at 7am after a long overnight flight so all we wanted was to rest but check in is not until 2pm. They told us as soon as they had a room available they would call us. Meanwhile they gave us vouchers for our kids to eat free at the TGIF after breakfast we went into our rental car to take a nap about an hour after I called to check status on our room they said they were getting it ready and I let them know my family was sleeping in the car meanwhile, as soon as she heard that, she said she would call me back she was going to see what she could do for us, sure enough 2 minutes later she called to let me know they had a room for us. I was so happy to know they really cared for our family. I didn't get her name but I thanked her so much!! Would totally recommend this hotel and stay here again!! Thanks again for your attention.
