Nice, clean rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Minutes from Universal Studios Orlando. Breakfast is not bad. Pretty good coffee. Would stay again.
This was my second time this year staying at this location. The first experience was excellent. This time we encountered a staff member who was a bit rude during our check-in. The moment I had an issue with my credit card, her entire demeanour changes. Then someone walked up, wispered something to her. Without asking us to hold on a minute or anything, she takes a phone call and begin speaking in another language. My wife then tells her that we have a travel card, she just pointed at a piece a paper and said send it to the email while continuing her phone conversation. We eventually got checked in, and enjoyed the best western experience that we are accustomed to.
Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was decent. Only complaint is the beds were a bit too stiff for my liking and pillows too small Bring you own. Definitely would go back.
We've stayed at a lot of hotels in the Universal Studios Area. This wasn't the absolute best, but it wasn't the worst either. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom (we stayed at one where there were none) but the pillows were stiff and lumpy. All in all, it was an okay experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I wouldn't mind going back. I will just take my own pillow with me.
As a family of 6, we stayed 3 nights prior to leaving on a cruise. Great location for Universal Studios as it is within easy walking distance. We also visited the Orlando Science Center. The hotel was clean, comfortable but the staff made it even better. They were very friendly, professional and ready to give great customer service. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family!
The property is on the smaller side compared to others in the area but that's fine by me - not as crowded. Clean, comfortable, an older property but nicely renovated. Was a bit hard to find as it sits behind another hotel and a small retail strip (just a heads-up). I would not hesitate to stay at this location again.
Very thankful we found this clean, well maintained and very convenient property!! Staff was excellent, very friendly and smiling always! Breakfast was good with choices for hot and cold food.
Our stay was very good! Rate of room was great! Only thing was qualify of fruits in continental breakfast, very poor! I love fresh fruit and they kept putting old fruit out!!!
Great location within walking distance to Universal. Hotel is a little dated and is showing it's age. Walls a little stained and table in room peeling but is clean overall. Has a nice breakfast and staff is friendly. Overall a great deal for the price and location. Does have a shuttle to the parks but only picks up and drops off twice a day so make sure you double check the schedule.
My family and I were disappointed. The air conditioner did not work well and when we reported this to the front desk, nothing was done. We never even heard anything else from them about it. The exercise room was extremely small. It was barely big enough to fit the only three machines in it and was extremely hot. No air at all. The water pressure in the shower could also have been better.
Perfectly good hotel to stay at if going to Universal Studios. Free shuttle back and forth was great to have. It's a quick $7 + tip cab ride to get to the hotel, so don't worry about staying late if you want.
The hotel is a well maintained and managed. Nice rooms. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds in our room. Well ventilated bath. Sofa bed was typical, and we could leave out (made) without crowding the room. The sink is in the bathroom in this particular hotel in case you're wondering. Breakfast is typical fare, but well managed and stocked when we were there.
I'm giving this hotel 3 stars mainly for the satisfied experience that we had with our room and the hotel itself. What makes me not want to give a 5 star rating is due to the staff.
The lady at the front desk that checked us in was very rude and argumentative and loud with us. We had called ahead that morning and asked for an early check in (if available), according to the person we spoke with on the phone it was and we were granted early check in. Well when we arrived at the hotel the front desk person wasn't aware of this and she rudely told us (we don't ever grant early check in). My husband then asked to speak with the manager, this was apparently the person who granted us the early check in because he remembered speaking with us. He then told the lady that was rude to us that we in fact were granted early check in. Well he walks away at this point, then the mean lady smirked at us and said well your room isn't gonna be available for another 30 minutes because our cleaning staff is in there ironing.
Another problem that we experienced during our stay is we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, 2 of those nights we needed to use a roll away bed. We were aware of the fact that it would be $10 per night to use one. We actually used the roll away bed for 2 of the nights that we stayed and we returned the bed to the manager early in the morning on the 3rd day. The manager told us that we wouldn't be charged for that 3rd night because we returned the bed and only used it for 2 nights. Well according to our bank account we were in fact charged for 3 nights after all.
The hotel was nice. Checkin was fast and easy. The room was a little too pricey for my price range. Stayed in a nice king room on the first floor. Didn't like that the guests were loud outside at 11PM. The breakfast was decent. Check out was fast and easy.
Great value hotel - rooms are clean and comfortable. Free wifi works great & good breakfast. The only complaint I had was the concierge service - they advertise discount tickets but when I went to buy Universal Studios tickets they were more expensive than buying them at the gate. The concierge told me a one day ticket for both parks was $190 including tax & assured me that it would beat the gate price. We didn't buy it. Went to universal the next day & paid $165 plus tax so about $178 per ticket. Overall a great place to stay but watch out for the concierge service.
Would definitely stay again! The room was beautiful and so comfortable! The staff were super helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and we very much appreciated the shuttle to and from Universal Studios. We wish we would have stayed at this Best Western the entire time of our vacation, it was just so nice (and SO MUCH better than where we stayed the first few days of our trip)
