I just have to respond to the review Candy Cleveland posted, as she said, she is an EX-employee, isn't it amazing how EX-employee's always want to slant their story to meet their needs. She failed to mention that she called off seven times in her first 90 days of employment, she just made it past the 90 day period (documented); she failed to mention that she consistently violated company policy (documented); she failed to mention that the person of color that works the front desk was recently promoted from housekeeping (documented); she failed to mention that she, too, was entitled to take breaks and lunch on a daily basiswhat you do with that timeeat, smoke, etc., is entirely up to you and finally, she has no clue about the renovation requirements set forth by IHG, which requires extensive property renovations every ten years. This will be the only post I make in relation to the issues identified, this is not a forum to air non-truths and half truths.

Please come and visit our beautifully renovated hotel and see for yourself. Candy, I want to wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

I am an ex-employee here at this location and I just wanted all the customers to know that housekeeping's are half cleaning your rooms they are not making your beds the reason the hotel was remodeled was because they had bed bugs before this and if it continued to go the way the housekeeper or cleaning the rooms now they will have bed bugs again they do not make the beds they do not clean out the tubs all they do is wipe around where it is water and if the beds are not that bad they do not change the sheets and if a customer come in there and have a bad experience all of the staffs that have been there for a long time talks about all the customers and if you go there in the morning you will find a group or housekeeper sit around and taking 10 minutes smoke breaks instead of cleaning the room but they still have the room clean and done by 1:30. no matter how many rooms they have. that's how you know they're not fully cleaning their rooms so I advise anybody that stay here to check all areas cuz I promise you you will find some that have not been clean and They will promise you anything and try to make you satisfied because they trying to build back up their customers but I promise you if you check your surrounded Hotel majority of all them in Kent got bed bugs because the housekeepers are not cleaning the rooms!! I a concern ex-employee that got discriminate because they do not like blacks if you go in there you only see one black person and each department!!

We have stayed here various times over the last 5-6 years. The staff is uniformly cheerful and helpful. Within the last year the rooms have been refreshed, with new furniture, lighting and window treatments. There are 2 drawbacks, one minor and one major: there is a bathtub rather than shower and there are no grab bars. We will stay there again.

Very nice place! Comfy beds and the pool is perfect temp. and also not over-chlorinated like many other places I've stayed! The breakfast is good with many different hot and cold options! I think this will be my new regular place to stay when in Ohio visiting family!

It's great I've been here many times before. The only dissapointing thing is that the treadmill and the elliptical we're both now working so I couldn't use the gym. Otherwise the stay was pretty good and the ability to get coffee/hot chocolate from the cafeteria at anytime was also really nice.

Staff was nice and very quiet. Allowed use of the swimming pool after hours after a long day. Would not mind staying again.

I travel to the area monthly, and this location is practically my home away from home. The rooms are larger than most Holiday Inn's and always very clean. The staff is engaging and attentive. A much needed renovation is underway, but has not effected me. I am most looking forward to the upgrades being made to the internet. Overall a nice place to stay near KSU!

I'm thinking there are fake reviews here. I stayed here the week before last and when booking, they never mentioned the place was under construction. It was like a war zone. Construction work went on until 9:30 PM on the floor over head (VERY NOISY). Hotel mgr promised the construction people would be gone by the afternoon the following day. The following day they worked until 9 PM AGAIN. There was debris in the halls, demolished walls, a toilet in front of the elevator. You get the picture. Breakfast was awful (the bread box had 3 pieces of white bread and that was it). The rest was cereal and stuff. Nothing real.

If a hotel doesn't have the decency to let customers know their hotel is under serious construction, they don't deserve your business.

Spent 3 days at the location. Nice rooms, nice beds, adequate breakfast. Fitness room was good too. Didn't check out or use the pool, but it was inviting. I would spend more days here if given the opportunity.
