We can typically rely on HIE for a great stay, but this time my handicapped mother stayed here while she was visiting and we had nothing but issues. They were rennovating (tons of noise, debris, etc.), there were no handicapped rooms available (because they were being rennovated), she got locked INSIDE her room due to a door lock malfunction and we were approached by panhandlers every morning and afternoon (possibly transients they hired to work during the renovation, because we would see them later in the day working on the construction crew). When we tried to address the experience with employees on duty, we were given nothing but attitude. Have yet to hear from management after providing Holiday Inn Express corporate with their REQUESTED reviews and feedback. Extremely disappointed.
The entire hotel is being redone, and everything inside was pulled apart. That being said, my room looked brand-new. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly.
Hotel offers nice amenities. Rooms are currently being updated so there is a lot of work being done. One complaint is the walls seen to be very thin. Noise from room to room is very noticeable.
Very nice hotel, it was undergoing renovations and will, I'm certain, be even better once finished. They still had a great breakfast and it was surprisingly clean given the construction taking place.
The hotel is undergoing renovations and I think I was in one that had not bed updated yet. There was mold on the walls in the bathroom and some of the lights did not fully work. The beds were nice and everything else was in relatively good shape.
