Honestly, I'm not often one to write reviews, whether poor or positive. In this situation however, I feel compelled to warn other travelers to steer clear! For nearly $300 a night, I am absolutely appalled with these accommodations.
For a standard hotel, it's not that bad. Standard room size, basic amenities, etc. I would, however, expect to pay less than half the price for this.
To begin, I would like to say that the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, very polite, and very accommodating. I was impressed with his assistance. Unfortunately, the good qualities end there.
We entered the room, and were met with a stale smell, faint but present. At the same moment, you can not help but to notice the filthy floors. Not only are they stained and trashed, but they look as though they haven't been cleaned in agesstrange hairs EVERYWHERE. Not to mention the unnerving random splotches of some white substance, that I shudder to speculate as to what it could be.
The hairs don't end there, either. There were hairs in the sink, hairs in the tub, and the bathroom floor. My travelling companion was horrified, she's never stayed anywhere this dirty. I have, and as such wasn't very phased until she told me the room rate! The last place I stayed that was this dirty was about $40 a night.
After a long day of travel, all I wanted was a shower. I open the shower curtain and am met with more horrors. There is a strange dark mold surrounding the magnets that hold the shower curtain to the tub, and the no-slip liner (which I do have to commendthis is a very nice thing to have) is very dark from the filth covering it, and since it's sort of see-through, you can see some sort of dark SOMETHING gathered underneath. I have to assume it's likely mold, but I don't have the guts to look and find out, so I can't say for sure.
I finished my shower, and got out to dry offand immediately noticed a set of used false eyelashes stuck to the top of the hair dryer hanging on the wall. I yelled to ask if there was any chance that my family member had been wearing false eyelashes, although she's elderly and I knew the answer before I asked.
They were not hers. They were not mine. And we've only just gotten here, we've had no guests. Which only leaves the option that they were left by the previous guest.
Even if I was able to rate at zero stars, I still would have given this hotel one star simply because the gentleman who checked us in was very helpful, and moved us to a different room when we discovered that we had made a booking error (it was our fault, and he absolutely did not have to move us to a different room, but he did and for that I'm thankful). The cleanliness of this place though is horrifying and please PLEASE if you're concerned with whether or not your room is cleanstay elsewhere!!
I'm sorry to leave such a poor review, however it's clear that this was not simply something that was missed by housekeeping. That would be completely understandable, as we're all human. This situation, however, is a glaringly obvious case of neglect.
I included a couple photos so that I don't just seem like some bratty unhappy guestthese concerns were real, and not just some snooty jerk nitpicking!!response / report this review -

The rooms were nice and the amenities were friendly. There was only one elevator to our rooms which were on the far side of the hotel, made for traveling with older people a little more difficult. Over all a pleasant stay.

Staff was very kind and helpful. They happily provided us with extra shampoos and conditioners as well as silverware for our take out. We also enjoyed lounging by the pool. Its conveniently located across the street from the metro rail!

The front desk people are very friendly. One day ahead of arrival, we asked for the (2) reserved rooms to be adjacent. They got that for us! The (2) queen beds in each room are huge. The whole place has definitely been remodeled. The swimming pool & patio area is very nice, except we were hit by a 60- 70 degree cool front which deters swimming. The surrounding area is very nice & safe, 5-10 min to the sea through very elegant streets. We found ourselves in a park at 10:00 pm using public exercise equipment with some locals without any hint of fear. The hotel is central to where we want to visit: north to downtown Miami and South Beach, northwest to Little Havana, south the South Miami, Homestead and Key Largo. We took the scenic route from the hotel whenever we can to avoid traffic on Highway 1, e.g. through Coconut Grove to Key Biscayne. In short, we would stay there again on our next trip to Miami.

Checked in fine with a very nice lady who gave us cookies. The room was clean. Next morning, I went to ask for shaving cream and a razor, the front desk lady was rude!! Did not even greet me and when I asked for the items, she looked at me dirty, took her time to give me two simple things which she had in a box right in front of her!!! Handed to me and and had the same rude look!! I wondered to myself what I did or said wrong to her. I know I didn't do or say anything wrong to offend her so my best guess is, she didn't like my race!!!
I was so disappointed with her lack of service. I would of gave this a 5 star but she ruin it. She was there the morning of March 11th!!! Managers, please try to locate her and provide her with more customer service training!! And would appreciate her valuing diversity!!response / report this review -

Great hotel that is very close to the University of Miami campus. Hotel staff from check-in to check-out were fantastic. The lounge area is a great place to unwind. Outside patio is very nice. I will definitely stay here again.
