Room by the river is the best, plus close distance to everything. Over all cozy, has compliment breakfast. A bit pricey if you're not planning ahead

We needed a weekend escape. We chose this inn for the close proximity to all the shops. It is a perfect location. Parking is free. There is a heated indoor pool but it is open by request in the cooler months. It is clean, but certainly not a new establishment. The entrance up the ramp to the second floor is worn and those slightly unstable could lose footing. We chose a balcony room overlooking the creek. While it is nice to open the door and have that background babble, you can hear the TV noise from the rooms on either side (thin walls).

We love staying at the Helendorf. The rooms are coozy. There is so much charm and character. We always ask for a balcony view. However you can't go wrong with a patio room. We think it is awesome they allow pets!

Very nice. Clean and comfortable. Short walk to everything in town. Personnel courteous. No noted problems. Would stay again and recommend.

Came in for Octoberfest and stayed for a night and everything was fine. Room was clean and it was very close to everything in town. Didn't check out any amenities so can't comment on that.

Great place to say. Right in the middle of everything. Walking distance from all the shops, restaurants, and steps from the river. It's somewhat dated but mostly clean.

My husband and I have been coming to the Helendorf twice a year for over 18 years. It is a charming hotel. The staff is always helpful and friendly. If there is a problem with something, they get it resolved quickly.

My wife and I came to Helen for the day with our 12 year old son for a day of rafting the river. While our original intention was to stay just for the day and tube on the river, we ended up getting a hotel room so we could stay for the night and have another day.

We called several hotels around the area and no one had any rooms available that we needed for our situation but luckily we were guided to the Helendorf and we were able to get a suite which fit our needs perfectly.

We got the suite which has a separate bedroom and bathroom and shower and while it does not have a bed in the living area it does have a full size couch which allows someone to sleep on.

The suite has a very nice bedroom, and extremely nice bathroom with a beautiful two-headed shower, and in the bedroom itself is a sunken tub with jets. The suite has a full kitchen with all appliances including a dishwasher and dishes.

A greatest aspect is that the suite has a large balcony overlooking the river, and it is right downtown.

While the price was kind of steep including a military discount (we paid $267 after our military discount for one night) I feel it was well worth the money based on the immediate need we had.

We did not use room service while we were there but the staff we did deal with was very kind and courteous, and they do have continental breakfast in the morning.

The weekly rates may be very very good though I am not sure but the hotel is in a great location and is very well maintained. Definitely would recommend to my friends and family.

I have no complaints about this amazing hotel the service was great and though some say the walls are thin I never had an issue with that aside from hearing the occasional toilet flush which in my opinion is a loud thing. Great place to stay definitely will be visiting again

Friendly staff. The junior suite, is a huge room. Very clean room. On the balcony, has a great view over looking the river. All shops are within walking distance. A must place to stay, with your family.

Perfect place for 3 weeks in a row, the rooms were clean, staff was extremely friendly, and was large enough to accommodate my elderly mama, and handicapped little one. We enjoyed the river view daily, and the indoor swimming pool. Thanks for such sweet Southern Hospitality.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfy. The staff and service are very friendly. Nothing to complain about except that the rooms are starting to smell a tad musty. It isn't terrible by any means and easy to get used to. All places get that smell when they get old. No bed bugs or any bugs seen, so the place is very well kept.

This is an old building and the inside halls are a little musty, but the room was great. Very clean with nice beds and updated bathroom. Beware, the cheapest rooms require climbing three flights of stairs. Spend a little more and you'll have elevator access and a balcony that overlooks the river. I left my balcony door ajar and the river put me to sleep. There is complimentary breakfast that includes bagels, cereal, yogurt, juice and packaged pastries. A hot breakfast would have pushed me up to five stars.

Paid extra money for what I thought was a nicer hotel with breakfast and heated indoor pool. When I arrived, it was not the room I paid for. The pool was closed and they served honey buns for breakfast. And on top of that they had men doing maintenance starting at 8 am running loud drills. The only reason it gets 1 star is because the room was clean and nice.
