We booked this hotel very last minute and it was really our only option.

The location is great, right in town and walking distance to everything. Also on the river which was nice.

I was pleasantly surprised when we saw the room. Clean and updated, my only issue was a few large stains on the bedspread. The staff got us a new one quickly. Also WiFi is pretty slow.

My biggest issue of the night wasn’t the hotel’s fault. It was the inconsiderate neighbors all around us. From 9:15-10 pm doors slammed non stop. When you have 2 young kids trying to sleep that can be frustrating. Lots of yelling and kids crying in the hallways. Also the hotel rooms are non smoking but the balconies are not and you can smell it in your room when someone lights up.

Overall it wasn’t a bad place. We would probably book in advance and find a cabin to better suit our needs.

Very good price and great location in Helen. Okay rooms, but pretty much nothing when it comes to breakfast. I've stayed here several times and will stay again.

Nice location beside the river and close enough to walk into heart of town. They have swings and benches down by the river where you could sit and enjoy your coffee or just listen to the river. Older motel with attempts at renovations but not done well. Walls recently painted but needs more renovations Our room included 2 queen beds and a small fridge and microwave. Coffee maker in the room and Continental breakfast consisted of Danish, muffins, coffee and juice. Nothing fancy but I would stay there again.

Our room 112 looked nothing like the pictures on this sight. The ceiling has a good sized to crack in it. Walls looked dusty! Bathroom definitely needs remodeled. Flooring not the best either. Wall under sink was horrible. Wouldn't walk barefoot.
Staff was very nice! Breakfast consisted of muffins, juice, coffee.
Only a couple of restrurants in town serve a hot breakfast. Get there early or you will wait forever.
For price paid per night, expected a little more for the money. This Motel definitely not worth the money spent. Will rethink where to stay next visit.

The only positive I have on this hotel is that it is a very short walk to downtown. It is listed as a non-smoking hotel but outside of each room is an Ashe tray and dirty chair with the smell of smoke. The front office staff was very rude and didn’t care. The free breakfast was sweet rolls that where out dated and juice. The room was very dated and the floor was sticky and the laminate flooring was coming up. The bed was hard and sleeping on the floor would have been better. The refrigator leaked water and the air conditioning did not keep the room cool. The bath/shower was very slick. This hotel was not worth the money as major chain hotels are within easy walking distance to downtown.

I had few problems. One was the room was and stayed hot about all day. The air was working but some how it was still HOT.. one main problem was the maid did not come by at all for 3 days. I had went to the office and told them we need a maid to clean up each day.they said they would send someone up to clean it but no one never came up.a small problem i had was the towel was small. I can sit down and my penis can touch the water. So unfortunately i could not do number 2 at all. i would not stay there again. I would not recommend it to anyone.

They have issues with the locks on the doors. First room, our stuff got locked inside and the maint. man had to kick out the air conditioner and climb inside so we could get our things. The room had very dirty walls, strange smell, microwave missing dial and a rusty refrigerator. The room they moved us to was much better and updated. I think they are working on updating all the rooms..hopefully, and they really need to put new locks on the rooms. Ours wasn't the only one with a problem. Still giving it a 3 for great location, friendly and helpful staff, and price.

I really wanted to like this place, with its location on the river and right along the downtown Helen area. We checked in at the rate of $160 a night for a king bed room. We walked past the ash trays and smoking chairs situated outside each room. I thought it'd be ok once we got inside. The room smelled of smoke, the walls were covered in paint patches. There was no sheet on the box spring. The bathroom floor was peeling and the ac seemed ready to fall out from underneath the window. I would not feel safe at this hotel. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly when we cancelled our stay 5 minutes after booking and paying. They refunded us without a fight. But I believe for this price you can get a lot more in the area.

It's old style but cozy like most of Helen. The room is clean and is a short walk across the parking lot from the river where they have swings you can sit at and enjoy the scenery.

Great place, right next to the river, great staff. Only small complaint I had is one of the key cards didn't work and that's it. I'm sure I could have gone into the office to get that fixed but I'm fine and still had a good night. Definitely recommend this place.

Good and Bad! The location could not be better! It is right on the river's edge so you can walk out of your room and take a seat on a porch swing and enjoy the water and scenery. You're also only a block away from the heart of Helen so you can park your car and get anywhere in town on foot. This was great for enjoying an evening on the town and not worrying about how to get home at night. The downside is the hotel is in dire need of renovations. The exterior of the building is way over due for a some serious TLC. The rooms look to be recently painted but they merely painted over blemishes and damage that needed further attention. The furniture is full of chips and dings that made the room feel second rate. Our shower needed scrubbing as the bottom of the tub was dirty when we arrived. The "breakfast" was a selection of stale bread products, which we didn't bother with after the first morning. Overall, I was left dissappointed with the hotel itself but the employees and location were fantastic. If the owners would invest some money in the place, it would be an amazing motel to vacation at! As it stands though, spend a little extra money and stay somewhere else in town. You'll be glad you did.

We just left here and according to us this place is amazing. the beds r great, the staff was and always has been phenomenal. we try to stay here Everytime we come. love love love it. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK

Rating this was a tough chore because there were some really good and some really bad aspects about our stay. Let me start off by saying: The staff are very likeable. Friendly, helpful people. So far so good, right? However, both the WiFi and the TV lacked in quality quite massively. We were often unable to remain connected to the Internet for longer than a minute. The channel selection for the TV was alright, but the quality reminded me of the '90s, which is just insufficient in this day and age. Both of these things should not matter too much, though, unless you intend to stay for an extended period of time, which leads me to my next point: monetary matters. Now, much like the rest of the motels, inns, etc. in Helen, this place is not exactly inexpensive. We ended up paying more than $150 for just one night - for just one room, that is. For that price one would expect great value as even top hotels are only $120/n in Atlanta, but I suppose that is the tourism 'tax' which you have to pay over there. Instead, we got what I previously mentioned. Furthermore, despite the interior looking quite nice in my opinion, the rooms are minuscule in size. If you plan on booking a room as a party of three or more, expect to face a bad time. Now for some positivity. The location is probably the best in the town or very far up there anyway. The shower was pretty good, especially since the curtains were see-through to an extent which made it a much brighter experience than it is at most places. The toilet, however, was kind of strange. It would only really flush small amounts of matter if you really held the flush down for half a minute or so. My wife was bothered by that more than I was, though. Bottom line is it was a cozy, overpriced, alright experience with technical difficulties.
