Clean rooms and a decent breakfast. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in town.
If you are not an animal person. You will not like this place. The halls are dirty and smell like animals. The parking lot smelled like urine and there was dog urine in the front entrance of the building. The air conditioning in the room took all night to cool. I will not stay in this location again. I usually love staying at Hampton Inn hotels but this one was truly a disappointment.
The place was decent. We stay in a lot of Hampton Inns and this one was the worst. First, there was the distinct smell of pet waste in the hallways. Second, the common areas weren't clean. Our air conditioning took most of the night to cool our room down from 74 to 70. I didn't file a formal complaint since we were extremely tired and needed to sleep. I will not go back to this location and hope that this will give others the info they need before they book a room here. Also, they allow pets at this location which is cool if you are an animal person but not cool if you want a clean smell free environment.
Our rooms were cosy and quiet with comfy beds and very clean, with all the necessary amenities.
Breakfast was huge and varied-I recommend their individual omelets-very tasty, but not so much their waffles-too chewy. I am glad they provided a healthy oatmeal option.
We had a problem accessing the pool with our room card, but at the front desk they were helpful and they sent for maintenance promptly.
The inn is fortunately a little far from the road and the surroundings were green and quite enjoyable on this clear summer day.
All in all, a pleasant stay.
The hotel was very clean (which I feel is the most important). If you join the Hilton honors program, you can get upgraded to a free suite with a jacuzzi tub if they have any of those rooms left when you're checking in. The customer service is also fantastic. Everyone is always very friendly and very helpful.
I booked this hotel because it had a whirlpool since it would be great after a long drive and my friend who lives in the area was going to join me. All I received was conficting infomation about why and how long it was broken. One desk person said it was broken for a while another seemed shocked because it had just been repaired. Hmmm.
Clean and more than just continental breakfast
Great location just off the interstate and plenty of places to eat within 5 mins drive. Staff were super friendly and check in was a breeze(we didn't have reservations). Our room was huge and the big fridge and microwave were a great addition. The convenience store is 24 hours and has a good selection for its size. Breakfast was great and free and free tea, coffee, cookies and fruit were available 24 hrs. If we're ever back in this area we will definity stay here.
A very nice Hampton at the intersection of the PA Turnpike and Route 81. If you are looking for a clean hotel with free breakfast, clean rooms, great beds and pillows, this is it. The Hampton chain is super dependable and this one is Pet Friendly. If you are traveling on the Harrisburg Turnpike you need to turn at Ahold Plaza to enter the hotel. You may see the Residence Inn first, that is your turn.
The front desk staff was extremely nice! The cleaning staff, on the hand, not so much. There were dirty towels in my room when I checked in and the cleaning staff literally only made my bed each day. They didn't refill my coffee or give me a new tissue box or clean out the shower (my hair was still in it - thank goodness it was my hair). The front desk staff was quick to remedy every issue and that was great! The decorating is less than desirable as the dark red reminded me of an old stripper joint. The rooms, however, are big and have a refrigerator and microwave and the bed is rather comfortable. But the reason for my rating is the sound barriers between rooms are horrible!!! I could hear everything the person in the room next to me said and I could even hear them taking a shower. Overall it's a great place to stop for a night but not for an extended stay.
