Rooms are very nice and the staff of the hotel is very polite. Looks as if it has been recently renovated and it looks quite nice. Good deal on the room as well.
Typical motel. Decent price. Near tpke.so lots of traffic noise. Need blackout drapes to keep out their parking lot lights
I travel often for work, so I have adopted certain habits. My first order of business is check for bedbugs. As I checked my bed at the Wingate, I was pleased to see no evidence of bugs! I unpacked some items and then pulled down the blankets. Much to my dismay, there seemed to be something on the sheets. Upon further inspections, the sheets were in fact clean, but the mattress cover was disgusting! I called down to the front desk and explained my discovery of a very stained and off putting mattress cover. When I asked for it to be replaced the woman at the front desk said, "What do you mean?" When I explained that the cover may be clean, it was covered in disgusting stains that she did not want this guest or other guests to see, she put me on hold. When she came back she told me the cover could not be replaced and that I would have to come down and get a new room. I asked if I would be on the same floor because if I was, I would prefer to not lug all of my items to the lobby just to have to take them all back up the elevator. The woman then sighed again and told me she would have to transfer me to the phone near her computer and again put me on hold. When she came back on the line, she told me I would stay on the 3rd floor and that I should come down for my new keys.
When I got to the lobby, another woman, who appeared to be a manager, said, "So what's going on up there?" So far neither the desk clerk nor the manager apologized for anything. I suggested she would want to send a staff person to the room to see for themselves. I was given my new keys and the maintenance man joined me in my elevator ride. The entire ride he told me he did not understand what I could be talking about. He assured me everything had just been replaced and brand new. I told him I too didn't know what had gone on, but it was surely disgusting and not something any guest should be exposed to.
When we got into the room he saw what is pictured below and said, "Oh honey, I am so sorry, this is disgusting." Finally, I got an apology. I packed up my things and moved down the hall to my new room. What happened when I got there you ask? The new keys did not work. So, after all of that, I had to lug all of my belongings down the lobby anyway. The same woman at the desk now asked what I was back for and when I told her the keys didn't work, she said, "You know some handles go up, others go down, did you try to jiggle the door?" When I responded by asking her what I should do when the light didn't even come on when I inserted the key she reprogrammed them for me and said, "Wow, you really are having a heck of a time here today."
My new room had 2 beds instead of 1 but both were clean, so, I considered this a small victory. I chose to ignore the unpleasant odor in the bathroom because I was not sure I could have another conversation where I was questioned or practically blamed for the unfortunate discovery. Customer service was surely lacking through this entire scenario. I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism of the manager and the desk clerk. I think I will be doing a 300 mile travel day instead of staying here again for work.
Stayed for three nights. Comfortable spacious rooms. Overall facilities are in good order. The buffet breakfast was a huge plus for the kids as well as the pool.
One of the main things for a hotel to retain customers is the interaction with employees. This location has it right. Joshua who checked us in exemplifies how professionalism and courtesy should be. Very attentive in every aspect to our requests. He seems to really care about you as a guest and make you feel comfortable and satisfied. Another employee who needs a mention is Sean. He is running the breakfast buffet. His attitude and demeanor are incredible. Very friendly and extremely helpful. Personally made sure everything was to our satisfaction and constantly offering assistance. Employees like this are what make you overlook the little things that may be wrong with a hotel. Thank you Wingate, Joshua, and Sean for a warm and comfortable stay.
I had an amazing nights sleep. It was very quiet and comfortable. Put my aching feet in the hot tub when I got there. They had fresh coffee up. Breakfast was really good.
We had a very different experience here from some other reviewers - lobby was clean, our room was large, very clean, no smell at all, bathroom clean and good water pressure with adjustable shower head, beds comfy. Plenty of breakfast choices. Pleasant staff. Fridge is dorm sized but had a freezer space big enough for a small ice pack. Kind of a convoluted entry behind a bunch of other businesses but otherwise a good stay and would use again.
Excellent service. Clean, sharp decor. Clean pool and exercise facilities. Convenient location and near to restaurants. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good hotel in the area. Thanks Wingate!
Nice hotel even though there were some renovations going on. Nice gym and pool. Rooms were nice as expected for price.
The beds were comfortable, the AC worked, and it's within walking distance of Cracker Barrel. All in all, pretty good
Good hotel, usually good customer service But not this time. Wouldn't match a rate they said they would earlier yesterday So we're talking to the manager.
Rooms were very average. Employees were kind and courteous. Breakfasts were good, seemed pretty clean. Nothing fancy here however.
Stayed for one night for a work function. Standard fare. Serviceable for a short stay. Beds were not the most comfortable. Not unusable but less than expected. Staff was accommodating. All the usual amenities (pool, gym breakfast etc). Might have just been my room but I could clearly hear conversation in the rooms on either side of me. For a longer stay I'd probably choose something a little more high end for comfort sake.
