Though trails and roads give access to the park, the majority of the Smoky Mountains national park remains beautifully untouched, a wonderful display of God's handiwork. Trails for all skill levels.. be sure to bring along a sturdy, comfortable pair of hiking shoes to access some of the amazing views. Pictures can't begin to convey the soul lifting experience of being surrounded by the creation.

Amazing, beautiful, absolutely wonderful trip. Walks for dogs and every fitness level. We tried a moderate level hike first. It was a bit more strenuous than what I, as a non- hiker would call moderate, but so worth it (Grotto Falls). We also did a light walk that allowed dogs. Saw a black bear, elk, and snakes! The park rangers and all staff were so lovely!!

WOW!!! What an amazing adventure. This park is absolutely gorgeous. The rivers and streams are just stunning, and there seems to be something exciting around every corner. There is a lot of history within the park as well. Do yourself a favor and stop off at the many attractions to really see what it was like back in the day. The wildlife and numerous trails are all worth the trip.

Beautiful Scenery! Great People! Food Every Where & its ALL Deliciously Tasty! There is no wonder "The Great Smokey Mountains" is the most Popular & Visited National Park in the United States, even "National Geographic" rated this National Park #1 again in 2020! If you love tranquil forests and gorgeous mountain views then it's a must see!

I have lived near these mountains most of my life since childhood. We have taken family vacations and day trips to many parts of the park for many years. The beauty grows greater rather than diminishes over the years. There are many trails, with options for every ability level, long and short, with all sorts of different features. The variety of wildlife and natural vegetation is tremendous, and out isn't unusual to see a bear during your visit. Come to the Great Smoky Mountains, you won't regret it!

The Smoky Mountain State Park is the best area. With many tourist attractions within.
Many places to stop along the side of the winding roads to view the rivers or go for a nature walk.
In October November, is the best time to see the color changing of the leaves throughout the mountains. Many places to stop and view mountain Mitchell in North Carolina and the black mountains is a favorite spot. Or as you rise in altitude the air gets much cooler

Smoky Mountain National Park is truly a national treasure. It can best be appreciated by hiking a few of the many trails. Whether you like peaks, waterfalls, or pleasant valleys, there is something of awe in every season. On hikes be sure to take water, snacks, and a bag to hold trash to bring it out with you.

I love the park and am glad they took my family's land.. If they had not it would just be cabin on top of cabins. At least this way my grand kids can see the beauty that I've grown up in.

First time ever to the Smoky Mountain National Park- was amazing, beautiful. So much to see and trails to hike. Hiked to Laurel Falls. Great views of the mountains along the trail and the waterfall was a worth the hike. Trail does wind a ways and there is a very steep drop if one is not watching ones step. Definitely a highlight of our vacation. Highly recommend it.

Excellent park and no entry fees! You can spend days exploring park and trails. Amazing mountain scenery, water falls, wildlife, trails and much more. Visitor center/museum/gift store very nice too. Park rangers very nice and helpful. Roads and trails are very well kept up in entire park with lots of places to pull over to view scenery. Been coming here almost every year for past 35 years and still our family favorite vacation spot.

How can you rate The Great Smoky Mountains any less than 5 stars? Amazing! One of the few national parks that has no entry fee. The land that is today Great Smoky Mountains National Park was once privately owned. Action by the Tennessee legislature would be required to lift this deed restriction if Great Smoky Mountains National Park ever wished to charge an entrance fee.

This place is absolutely amazing. You have to bring your family by to visit all of the fantastic things to do and see.God has truly blessed us with a gorgeous place to live. My husband and I loved everything about this area. The mountains, the trails, the variety of lodging. You could stay in the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge or you can rent a private cabin in the middle of nowhere. Most places seem to be dog friendly as well. We will definitely be back, with our fur babies!

A beautiful national park that gets more gorgeous in fall. You can see layers of different fall colours and the vastness of hills adds to the beauty. There are plenty of hiking option and you can choose one that suits your physical strength. The surrounding town of Gatlinburg and pigeon forge are a destination in themselves. I can only comment on what I saw but it was great. Didn't interact with the staff but visited a few places from a few entrances. Took the road to nowhere. I highly recommend it. Do it super early in the morning to enjoy it at an eerie time. Very enjoyable little walk and the drive in has spectacular views.

Pet friendly town and fun area even though Gatlinburg is quite touristy. Shop employees are friendly and welcoming. Park is beautiful. Many trails to explore. The park itself not as pet friendly. There are only two trails for them. Overall, a great get away with or without a pet.

One of the best national park. The park rangers at various visitors centers very helpful. As generally true in most national parks, roads get busy during holidays. Fall colors week can be extremely buys and so is during the peak spring season. Advanced reservations for camping sites and various locations nearby is recommended.

So much to do here! Be careful parking on the side of the road (some people fly around corners!) But the park is gorgeous, it feeds to 2 town and other parks within it. I enjoy tubing on the river and picking on the Townsend Y.

This is a very beautiful park that is well taken care of. Plan on spending hours here because it is not a quick trip. The historical buildings are interesting and amazingly preserved. The mountains, streams, forest and fields are breathtaking!
I would STRONGLY suggest making sure that you have a paper map because neither our GPS nor cell phones had service. It's easy to get lost.

Fell in love with the Great Smoky Mountains. Only the second National Park me and my girlfriend have visited, and it was amazing! From hiking, to motor nature tours, to swimming in the beautiful clear water, it was one of the best vacations we have taken yet! Park is very well maintained and staff are helpful and friendly. Any visitor center will be extremely helpful and will point you in the right direction.

Absolutely love the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! I've been hiking here since I was a child and it never gets old. Summer, spring, winter or fall—this place is absolutely gorgeous no matter what time of year. You can honestly get lost in the pure beauty of this place. Go check it out, there is a reason this is the most visited national park in the United States.

We LOVE it here. It is crowded but worth the trip every time. The Jr. Park Ranger program is excellent and all of the ranger led activities are awesome. We always donate and support the park because everything is free of cost. Simply beautiful and is recovering on the Tennessee side from December's fire.
