Let me start by saying that I love this place!! They have amazing food and the beer selection is fantastic. We eat here a lot. I travel to U of M for appointments a lot and this is a favorite stop.
On 2 separate occasions within the last week we came in and got not so stellar service. The first night was a weekend night so I figured it was from being busy. 10 minutes after seating our server manages to make it to our table. I eat slow because of stomach issues and she kept pushing boxes on us. I felt like an inconvenience rather than a guest.
The second trip was a mid day stop so it wasn't busy at all. Same thing, it takes forever to get greeted. There is no sense of urgency in the wait staff. I'd hate for this place to go under because the servers are less than stellar.

Lunch with coworkers. Majority of food was very good - especially brisket and pulled pork. Service was quick and friendly. Mac N Cheese was very good.

Excellent place! I am not one to leave reviews, but this place deserves it! We had a large party and stopped here to grab a bite and a beverage (ok several) on a whim, at about 11:30 am on a Sun. We had 9 adults and 7 children aged between newborn and 12. This place was pretty busy and didn't have the space for 16 people, but they opened a whole closed off area to accommodate our party. We were not local, drove over an hour, half the party was from Chicago area, not to come here, to see another attraction in Jackson that no one was thrilled with, so most of the party was unhappy. But thank God for GRB! The wait staff was exceptional, the food was absolutely amazing, everything everyone ordered was just over the top. Everybody said they would definitely go here again, even driving from the north side of Chicago! Highly recommend this place to any and everyone! Good times!

Grand River Brewery has made an extraordinary single malt American whiskey. Good enough to challenge any and all single malt scotch's regardless who makes it. My very discerning pallat thanks you. Wow it just blew my mind. An unbelievable shock and surprise. And I didn't think that was possible to achieve. Smooth, very smooth. Great taste. Clean finish. Everything one could expect in the most expensive scotch. My hat off to you and staff.

Had a wonderful dinner (Saturday night) and wouldn't hesitate to drive the 40 minutes to go again. The ribs, sweet potato fries and cole slaw (yes, even the quality of the slaw stood out) were all delicious. Our table enjoyed all our beer varieties. Our waitress was excellent - attentive, but not overly. There were several dishes on the menu that looked enticing, making the final selection tough. Reasonably priced. Only criticism, music too loud (high ceilings, large interior). As the evening went on, the room filled up and music was just too noisy. Will definitely return. Was an ideal half-way meeting point with friends coming from Marshall and us coming from Ann Arbor.

BBQ platter was a pleasant surprise (the wings were stellar) and the poutine was very, very good.

I find myself returning to the same light lunch, here. That being the Smoked Trout Chowder. It is one of the best chowders I've ever had, which is high praise as I once lived in Boston. The beers are wonderful, as well. Stop, if you're nearby. Better yet, go out of your way. You won't be disappointed.

Great food as well as their beer, wine and liquor. Staff were friendly and welcoming which made the place very warm and inviting. Next time I'm in town I will absolutely plan to make a stop back here for drinks and dinner!

Food was amazing and bloody Mary bar is on point! But Kyle our waiter was not as we expected. You can tell we were just a table to him. Drinks took to long to come out as did food. This place with just a little more will be perfect. Also love the layout and patio seating.

Bar side might be nice seemed busy but wouldn't suggest winery side. Ended up leaving after trying one drink because bar tender never came back. Was not the only one as 4 other people left as well to lousy service.

As a home brewery and craft beer lover I am extremely happy with the quality of beer and food Grand River has to offer. It's a breath of fresh air in the Jackson area. Great food, service, and atmosphere make it my go-to establishment for dining out. They a have a great mug club membership program. If you're looking for a good place in the downtown area this is a must. Maybe I'll see you there!

Was recommended by a friend and didn't know what to expect maybe a decent burger and a good beer. Wow, we were blown away by the extensive menu and great service! Everything we had was wonderful! My only complaint: they should light their sign better.

Good but a bit on the pricey side. I had the BBQ pastrami sandwich, it was very tasty and large it cost $15 and came with potato chips. My friend ordered the brisket, which ended up being two slices of brisket flat, mac & cheese, beans, and slaw. At $19 I would have liked to see double that amount of brisket. The brisket was legit and cooked on a offset barrel smoker. The beer I chose was a double IPA and was very good, most pints averaged $6 which seems on par for the area. All in all a very nice place, and a breath of fresh air in Jackson.
