Great sushi! Very attentive and professional wait staff. Relaxed atmosphere! My group had a great time!
What an Awesome experience! Don't let the exterior fool you, this place hands down has the best Sushi in San Antonio! Plus the owner/Sushi Chef, Goro is a blast. You have to sit at the Sushi bar to get the full experience. Also the combination fried rice is to die for! Excellent wait staff, and wine list.
My girlfriend and I showed up late on a Saturday night after checking the reviews for this place. After walking in we picked a table to the left of the entrance and as my girlfriend was moving the chair next to her to put her purse down a huge cockroach climbed onto the table top. Needles to say we were so disgusted and creeped out we walked out immediately. It completely ruined our night and we'll never step foot in that place again.
The service was great! The wait staff was very attentive to our family of 3, including a child. The waitress was able to give us vegan and gluten free recommendations for our family. I was so happy that they had gluten free soy sauce as most places do not. We ordered vegetarian sushi rolls, which had a mix of seaweed salad, zuchini, carrots, and asparagus. They were tasty! If you are vegan, make sure to ask for no fried veggies, as they usually have egg battered items in the vegetarian sushi. My son and husband who do not eat gf, had a noodle dish that they enjoyed. We also had cucumber salad and an avocado/cucumber roll. Those were good as well. Overall, I was satisfied with the food and the service.
First time going and had a great time! Dominic and Felix were on point with recommendations. My favorite is freshwater eel. I asked Dominic about trying the eel yakeshimi(fried rice). So delicious. Beautifully plated. Felix prepared custom rolls based on our preferences that were mouth watering good. Goro was very friendly, inviting and funny. Will definitely be going back.
Folks are very friendly, fast and efficient. Their Chirashi is one of the main reasons I go there. Love it.
Great service, friendly staff, the owner is always kind. If you have any questions he is helpful. Their fried rice here is amazing and a huge portion. The sushi is always delicious.
Love Goro and his creations Used to visit with him regularly at Goro's sushi of Vance Jackson and it's been 10 years since I moved Same lovely personality and consistent quality of food! I love his 'new' place and try his spicy tuna poppers. So good!
Fantastic sushi and the entire staff is wonderful. This place has very little turnover. I think they've had pretty much all the same people for 7 years so everyone here really knows what they're doing.
Great food, great service. I've never had a bad experience at Godai. They know my friend and greet him every time he's here, despite now being an infrequent customer, having moved across town.
Anyway, the food is amazing. Try the Eel Fried Rice
Great sushi restaurant! I have known Goro for a long time. Always great service!
Terrific sushiI dined here recently with former real estate clients who are friends from out-of-town. We introduced the restaurant to them and they loved it as much as we do. Try the Joanne roll, it's delicious!
The cucumber rolls were good and the service was good. The salad dressing tasted weird and my tempura was so greasy I literally could not pick it up with the chopsticks. I ended up only eating about a quarter of it. For $50 for 2 people, I expected better.
I picked up take out here and we got two rolls and the spice up edamame. We had the Longhorn roll and the A&M roll. Big portions and high quality. The spicy edamame was delicious.
All the staff was very friendly and I look forward to bringing my wife back there for a date.
Wasn't as big as a fan of the food as my husband was. Not bad. We both did not like the veggies as they tasted like nothing but wine. Our waiter could have came by our table a bit more often. Not a bad experience. But don't think I'd be back here for the food
