This is a wonderful family oriented attraction here in Atlanta! I love how you can bundle tickets and continue the fun next door at the Coke Factory as well! The aquarium is always clean, bright, and full of culture! I have been back to the aquarium numerous times without any disappointment. I recommend the aquarium for families and couples looking to enjoy quality time with one another in a fun and relaxed setting!

BEST aquarium I've ever been to! I love aquariums and this one is sure to impress! Staff is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have, I talked to one employee for 15 minutes just asking questions about the fish and he was very knowledgeable! Would recommend buying tickets online but they also have ticket kiosks you can go to when you get there so you can skip the line!

Saturday visit in mid-December was still pretty crowded but not crazy.
Some things to be mindful of;
1. Order tickets online for ease of entry and best discounts. We went with early bird discount for entry before 11:00am. Also ordered prepaid parking online.
2. Make note of your Order Number or print out the page and have it with you. We never received the emailed tickets because as we found out later the online ordering was experiencing problems. After a call and a talk to a human, we found we could present the order number at will-call and get our tickets without problems.
3. If you order prepaid parking online and experience any problems, or do not receive emailed tickets/parking pass please note the following; You do not need to double park and get your tickets/parking passes first. You may enter the parking garage and take the provided ticket at the gate because you pay for parking BEFORE you leave. Once you have parked and walked to will-call and picked up your tickets/parking pass you can enter the aquarium and go about your visit. When you are leaving you will present your parking ticket with your prepaid parking pass and this will allow you to exit the garage. NOTE: the garage is once in/once out. you cannot re-use your prepaid pass. If you leave for lunch you will be re-charged to re-park.
4. The shows are nice and fun. The splash/soak zone in the dolphin show is no joke. If you are in the first 10 rows you will get soaked. the dolphins flip their tails and spray the audience with tons of water.
5. Food is EXPENSIVE! Be prepared to drop some cash for the convenience of eating at the aquarium. If you leave and drive somewhere else you will have to pay again to re-park. There are restaurants a few blocks away but make sure you are up for a walk.
We had a great time even with our ticket problems and I felt the aquarium was well worth the price.response / report this review -

Very nice aquarium! Informational signage around at the appropriate level. I would recommend ordering your tickets online for after 4pm, as they offer a pretty good discount then. My group made the assumption this price would be reflected if you ordered tickets at the gate, but that was not the case. So we just ordered them online while we stood there. The crowd after 4pm on a Monday was perfect! Never had to struggle to get up close to see anything. My only wish is that both the Beluga and Whale Shark tanks were made larger, as both need much more room to roam!

This aquarium was really nice and huge. It was great to be able to walk around into different areas and see all kinds of wild life right here in the city of Atlanta. The habitats were huge with large fish, dolphins, belugas, and even otters. I have turtles so they were my favorite part. I also found the jelly fish to be the most mesmerizing part to it all. I could watch them for hours. This is a great place for kids and I might even suggest if you like someone and want to take them on a date, this might be a cute idea, unless you need an escape.

Most of the staff was great and their aquatic life is so extraordinary, all rescues apparently! They have a wide variety of marine and brackish fish and the place was huge. We came to watch my aunts now fiance propose underwater in the ocean voyager tank and that was incredible. So you can do dive tours in this tank if that's what you're into and with 3 enormous whale sharks, a sea, turtle, and a giant manta ray I see the appeal. Highly recommend coming here if you get the chance.

Place is allowed to be overrun. So crowded you can barely move, in order to see any of the shows one must get there an hour early and wait.
The aquarium should think about opening for adults only on certain days or later in the evening and charge more but only allow in so many.
This could have been an enjoyable experience but the hot, humid conditions in conjunction with so many ill behaved people caused us to cut our visit short. The variety of marine life here is beautiful, good luck getting to see it in a peaceful setting. Kind of like Disney does fishresponse / report this review -

This was by far one of the best aquariums I have seen!! My family and I absolutely loved it! Very educational.. Staff was very friendly and knew a lot about the sea animals! Can't wait to go back. The only downfall was there were a lot of school children there on a field trip. It was kind of hard to enjoy everything. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to others!!

I have been living in Atlanta for several months now but had not yet gone to Georgia's infamous aquarium until recently.
My boyfriend and I went this past Friday, going after 4pm because on their website it says the price is reduced to $26. Upon arriving we were surprised to learn that we had to pay $45 a ticket because the discounted price only applies to those who purchased their tickets online, so keep that in mind if you decide to go.
So after spending nearly $90, we wanted to get our money's worth. Overall it is a very big and impressive Aquarium. We spent about 3 hours just walking around, looking at the animals and reading about the animals as well. They have a few touching tanks where you can touch sea urchins and other small marine animals.
This aquarium is really interactive. There are a lot of cubby holes where you can go into and feel like you're right there next to the animals. Because we went so late in the day, we didn't get to see any of the animal feedings or dolphin shows. If you want the full experience, I recommend coming earlier in the day.
The only downside to the museum is the price tag and paying an additional $10 for parking. Comparing it to other Aquariums that I've been to, this one is okay, but worth a visit.response / report this review -

Great aquarium! I was inspired to come here after watching the show Jonathan Bird's Blue World where in an episode he visits the aquarium. The exhibits are beautiful! The sea lions and dolphins shows are a lot of fun. The coastal predators 4D show was really a pleasant surprise. The highlight of the aquarium is an enormous tank that holds dozens of species of fish including four of the largest fish in the sea, the whale shark. There is a glass tunnel that allows you to walk underneath the giant tank and gaze at the fish swimming by. This tunnel leads you to the spectacular giant window.
Overall, this aquarium was worth the 12 hour road trip. The only thing I would change is that the exhibits should have information on the species of fish on the walls next to the tanks rather than on reference sheets found at the end of the exhibits.response / report this review -

One of the most impressive aquariums I have visited! My sister dove with the whale sharks and manta rays, it was truly incredible. After our divers swam to an area we could no longer view them, our hostess took us through a behind the scene tour that was very informative and fun. A lot of the marine life they provide a home for are rescued (sea lions, turtles, fish, etc.) but I was /very/ disappointed to learn that all 4 whale sharks and I believe the beluga whales were fished out of their native waters. I do not condone removing healthy animals from their homes. We were also unaware of the recent deaths of all/most of their beluga whales. Turns out they died and the aquarium just replaced them like you would replace your roll of paper towel. The aquarium also gets extremely crowded, to the point of being overwhelming. It did empty out quite a bit towards the evening, but being surrounded by so many people for the majority of the day was exhausting. Overall an incredible experience.
TLDR: Great views of the whale sharks and manta rays, however, they were wrongfully fished out of their home to be put on display. If that doesn't bother you, I highly recommend diving/snorkeling with them or a behind the scenes tour.response / report this review -

Best Aquarium I have ever been to! All of the exhibits are beautiful. There are a lot of aquariums that are over your head as you walk through the exhibits. They have a huge aquarium with tons of different types of fish, even a couple of whale sharks! There are a lot of interactive educational exhibits for the children. The sea lion show and dolphin show were the best I've ever seen! They have discount tickets if you arrive during certain times of the day. We will be returning to this aquarium in the future.

High quality aquarium. The staff is fantastic and knowledgeable. The dolphin show is impressive. Nothing especially unique if you have already seen any dolphin show in the past. The exhibits are very well designed. It is pricy, but they do offer swimming with sharks. Kids love the penguin march, so try to check the schedule and see that if you are going with children. Also, check the city pass site for discounts on combined tickets. I save $5-10 by purchasing a zoo/aquarium combo ticket from their site. Prepaying parking on the website also saves you money if you need parking on site.

What a great adventure spot for kids! In addition to the live animal exhibits and shows, there are interactive learning exhibits upstairs. We have a family membership and definitely have taken full advantage of it!
The GA aquarium is great for the whole family. I love it is as much as the kids do Even my grandmother gets excited about it!

I've never had a strong desire to go to an aquarium but we had family visiting so decided to go. It was actually a really great experience! The facility is very nice and clean. The large tank exhibits are stunning. The shows are entertaining and a good learning experience. The cost of entry is very reasonable and the parking deck is well maintained.
The food is pricey but that's expected at any venue. I would suggest eating before going because you will spend 3-4 hours here, at least, and if you're planning on having lunch there it will be an expensive meal for corn dogs and pretzels!
I also wasn't too happy with the penguin exhibit. I felt bad for the animals because it seemed to be too small and desolate as a living space. I'm no animal expert so I could be wrong about that.
If you're looking for a wheelchair-friendly spot to enjoy family time, this is a great option.
