The duck carnitas enchiladas were excellent. This place definitely has some choices that you won’t find anywhere else.
This place is great. Amazing interior design really has some vibrant sculpture and artwork. Our server was amazing. Always attentive to us and our drinks. Must have visited the table 20 times. Delicious and reasonably priced lunch considering the reputation. You won't see the same old Mexican dishes here. Definitely give it a try. There is another side to the restaurant with another name and menu which I will have to explore next time.
Food was delicious, waiter made great suggestions. Drinks were very good and strong. Service was on point new silverware between courses to say the least. Great overall experience will definitely be back.
Excellent! That word describes everything you’ll experience here. Food was superb, bartender made the drinks fast and they were unique to the restaurant, server knew what to recommend by asking a few questions and speed was on point for each order. First time here in Chicago and have been a fan of his show so decided to try it. I love Mexican food and each dish was spectacular to the last bite. I just wish I had a bigger appetite.
Second visit. The food and service were very good. I think the River North taxes make some of the simple dishes a bit much, but in all, very delicious.
Wonderful!
My business mentor and I dined here. It was my thank you dinner for her asking me to join her for a conference in Chicago.
Come to find out she was a foodie like me! We appreciated each bite.
This is not a place for just a meal. This restaurant is for those who appreciate food, the mouth feels, the flavor profiles, and the back stories. This restaurant - and those like it - are for the 'fans'.
It's like buying an album of a music artist then seeing them in concert with front row tickets. It's like being into art and going to The Picasso exhibit when it comes to town.
Best Mexican food made in America. I have never been disappointed no matter what I had off the menu. This place is great for lunch if you have time to spare.
Love RICK Bayless' food. Every time we have dined here it has been a memorable evening! Food, service and ambiance is excellent. Hard to get a reservation. It worth the patience.
Go for lunch! Food was excellent and the service was impeccable. Delicious guacamole. I highly recommend the chef's special #tamales and the ceviche trio. The tacos were also delicious. I felt like we got very personalized service at lunch time as a opposed to a very busy night schedule.
I've been eating here for years and years and love all their dishes! My favorite is the Frontera Grill.. delish!! Good people, good food and great location, it doesn't get better than that.
Excellent breakfast burritos the staff is super nice and was very accommodating with any substitution we requested. The prices are very reasonable. We'll definitely be coming back here all the time for breakfast and lunch.
Amazing! We got the two veg dishes on the menu and we weren't completely excited, but these flavourful meals blew our minds! (One was topped with popcorn?!) We were too full for dessert but would have tried anything on the list after those great entrees. I'd recommend to anyone! Side note: I'm gluten free and they were ready to accommodate!
Food was good. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection The wait however was insane. If it was not for the two lovely woman whom gave us their bar seats we'd have never eaten. The text for our seats came almost 3 hours after checking in. Moral of the story, make reservations If you can.
A high end preparation of Mexican cuisine in a casual, lively atmosphere. Better than many upscale Mexican kitchens with some unique foods, all well sourced and authentic, for which you pay the price. Typical dinner with a cocktail or two will cost about $75 per person. Very helpful, knowledge serving staff. Make reservations well ahead or prepare for a long wait. Casual dress (jeans) are most appropriate.
