This zoo is awesome! It's walking areas are shaded with plenty of seating throughout the zoo. Its pretty small. An age group in 20's can cover the entire zoo in 2 to 3 hours. We loved watching the flamingos and parrot show .

Fun, fun, and fun!
It is a lovely place to spend a whole day JUST remember to pack the following:
1- enough water and drinks
2- lunch and snack
3- good camera to take memorable photos
4- If you have kids bring swim suits/towels so that they can play at the water fountains.
5- a picnic mat so that you can relax and enjoy watching the view.

It is good to bring a cooler with you if you have one or a wagon to put all of your stuff and drag it. If you don't have one you could rent it for 10$.

Also you MUST wear comfortable shoes as you will walk for LONG. During this time of the year, don't forget to apply enough sunblock with water resistant before you go especially for the kids.

Was a nice visit. The zoo is overall nicely curated. Thought it was a little small for the price. Bought an ice cream and thought it was reasonable price.

The penguin exhibit smelled bad even for a penguin exhibit given that I understand animals can stink.

I would only plan half a day for the zoo.

The mountain goat exhibit was very unique and was my favorite attraction.

My family and I moved to fort Worth several months ago. Buying a year pass to the zoo was one of the first things we did. Totally worth it. We love visiting the reptile building and the children's play barn. Great place for kids of all ages. If you haven't made up your mind if you want to be a member, you can go once and then apply that day's admission to your year membership. We go once a month. Definitely a Fort Worth gem.

The Fort Worth zoo was an extremely easy, shady walk. Parking is $5. The train is $3. A stick with bird food on it is $1. Everything else was free! They have parakeets you can feed but they seemed pretty full. They had all the heavy hitters such as elephants, giraffes and lions. The reptile building was seriously phenomenal. They had a different snake you could play with every hour. The children's play center is indoors and so very nice. My kids would have stayed there all day. They also have a splash pad I think, there was a sign for it.. but I didn't check it out since it's November and all.

Overall, very good little zoo. We enjoyed it.

Great to go for some family fun. I love how they let you get up close and personal with some of the animals. If you have young kids, you have to take them to the bird feeding area. It's amazing to have different birds come up and eat off of the feeder sticks

This zoo is awesome! It's walking areas are shaded with plenty of seating throughout the zoo. Go early to avoid long lines, Wednesdays is half price. My grandson enjoyed Parrots Paradise it was different from the other city zoos he has visited. Parking was reasonable and convenient too.

Took my 2yr old here for her birthday. Not super crowded and the weather was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! They have a great and diverse group of animals and way more elephants than i expected to see. The tortoises were SO close to the walk way and they were incredibly cute. The hippos were a mild disappointment, as they were under water the whole time but that's what they do so i can't really complain. My kiddo got to touch a horseshoe crab and starfish and she loved that. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a grand zoo adventure!!

I finally got a chance to visit the zoo and I loved every second of it!
The coolest parts were the bird aviary, where you could go in and feed birds (see uploaded photo of the ginger man looking like a Disney princess) and I especially loved the reptile and amphibian house. It was like playing a game of Seek & Find.
I wish the petting zoo could be a little better but I guess safety has gone up over the years.
I also enjoyed the cafeteria food. It was all fair priced and SO delicious. The guy who put bacon on my burger gave me at like 4 or 5 slices instead of 2 like cheap fast food places do.

I really hope to come back in future! Maybe during/around the holidays.

I worked in the Fort Worth Zoo education department as a Teacher's Assistant for the 2009 and 2010 summer Zoo Camp sessions, and I was also a 'volunteen' for the summer camp sessions from 2004-2008.

I absolutely loved my time working there. It was so fun teaching the kids about the animals and getting to experience some of the behind the scenes stuff regular Zoo-goers don't have the chance to see. We had the opportunity to learn many of the resident animals' names and individual quirks, which added another level of connection to the camp kids' time there, and made their experience that much more enjoyable. Although the summers in Texas are hot, and I was always exhausted by the end of the day, it was an extremely fulfilling day's work. I highly recommend working for this organization if you get the chance.

One of the top zoos in the country, the Fort Worth zoo has a great collection of animals and exhibits. My family enjoys the creatures, the ambiance, and the fun extras the zoo has to offer. We like the play barn and splash pad to cool off in. My biggest and only complaint is the layout. It is sometimes hard to maneuver to favorite animals with the elongated walking path, a circular path or spoke wheel design is a little easier. But they worked with what they have, and it's lots of fun!

I love kangaroos and had never seen them up close but last year for my nieces birthday we went and all enjoyed it as a family. I love animals and I'm sure that I will go again one day. It's not as big or as great as the Dallas zoo but it is still family friendly and a great choice for any occasion or celebration.

We were at the zoo today for my grand daughters birthday party. What a great place to have a party. The girls came in with the animals and did a presentation. They both did such a great job!! You can tell they both really love those animals. Thank you thank u.

I love coming to this zoo. I have been a member for a couple years now. I am very excited to see the new renovations. Food is always amazing. Prices aren't even that bad for a zoo. Keepers are always friendly and always willing to answer questions. I even git engaged here. LOVE THIS PLACE.

Took my 6 year old here for his birthday and had an amazing time! The animals all looked happy and healthy, and the park was clean front to back. Parking was easy and close, even though the human traffic seemed really busy. The souvenirs were reasonably priced, and we were able to find something for everyone in one shop. We will definitely be coming back.
