I was on a cross country walk and stayed a few nights at Fisher's resort, in the summer of 2012. It's not a Hilton, but that's a compliment! Simple cozy cabins and a fun bar/restaurant right on Lake George. The owners were incredibly nice I was hot so the son brought a fan into my room. One of the owners and some guests took me on a boat ride around the lake; just a really friendly family atmosphere.

I had to see a doctor for an injury, but couldn't get an appointment for a day or so. I told the woman who owned it that I was kinda stuck, and she let me stay an additional night free of charge. When I returned home after my trek, I drew a picture of the resort for them as a thank you.

Really neat place, wonderful people, and not far from Rhinelander. I recommend it as a welcome change from the sanitary and predictable Days Inn kind of place. Fisher's has atmosphere you can't get in a cookie cutter chain hotel. Two thumbs up.
