Fireside is my go-to place for dates, family dinners, or special occasions. The service here is great as well as he food. I recommend the French onion soup, as it is easily one of the most popular menu items.
Great food and acceptable pricing. A go to place for special occasions or just a night out.
I’m going with 5 stars cause you cannot Best the food, and I’m a semi pro cook, I hate spending money on inferior restaurants period, I can make better so why right? Anyway I will go back their when I’m in the area for sure, but I have to say the gal with black hair in a white shirt bartender just ignored us, poor woodsy was serving everyone as fast as he can and he made the best old fashions another drink I love before my meals, but that won’t stop me from
Coming back for sure we had a Ribeye meal and the shrimp for my wife and the salads were to die for and what a great presentation with the extras fresh crackers I love the sticks in the package I was impressed period it’s hard to describe..
They said we can order from bar and have "that" table. Over the next hour, three requests for a server and three empty tables AND STILL NO SERVICE, WE LEFT!!!! Talked to a Rhinelander local who said that practice is normal @ the fireside. We will NEVER GO BACK!
Food was ok. Perch was very good but rib eye steak was thin and fatty. Waited for nearly an hour after being seated to place our order. Only one waitress and one bartender. Would not go back.
Pan. Fried. Walleye. Was. Awesome.
Decent service. Fish fry was ok but nothing to write home about.
Okay, there is no doubt this restaurant is dated. However they have a great view and some of the best food in the northwoods. I always get the French onion soup.
Went here to enjoy a nice dinner with my boyfriend and his dad, we all got all you can eat fish and it was horrible. Our fish was served on a layer of grease, it was very soggy and over cooked. Also, being a cook myself for a restaurant the fish was wet before they put it in the deep fryer so the batter came out kinda crumbly and extremely thin. Best part of the meal was the potato salad and dinner rolls.
