Staff is very friendly. Wait can seem long when you're in pain, but you are in a hospital with lots of other patients. I will only go here no other local hospitals.
Worst ER I have ever been to. Was there with my boyfriend who had a dislocated shoulder and it took over an hour for the doctor to see him and when I asked nurses what was going on they all rolled their eyes and said “they would make a note”. Finally the doctor came in but still no pain meds (which had been requested multiple times. Then they gave him an anesthetic bit started to put the shoulder in before he was asleep which resulted in screaming and crying out in pain in which they refused to stop and kept going even though he was awake. Waited over an hour and half for discharge papers and he had to pee while waiting so he pressed his button and it took 35 minutes for a nurse to come to the room- good thing he wasn’t dying. DO NOT GO HERE if you want professionalism or help in a decent amount of time.
Once when I was severely injured I was offered a bullet in the head to relieve my suffering - more, better , and more merciful care than they offer in this antechamber to oblivion.
Save the money and get ignored ( and possibly die ) somewhere else !
It’s patently obvious the person I am with needs an IV for fluids and we can’t even get them water by mouth !
This place should be renamed the Vestibule of Futility ( A.K.A the Tenth Circle of Hell )
Time to stand on some desks !
My daughter needed an x-ray of her knee and the tech was not only so kind and accommodating, but also showed great compassion and got her image reviewed by the radiologist while we were still there. He went above and beyond. Thank you!!
Came in with chest pain, nurses we extremely rude. When I wasn't seem for two hours then when I said I was leaving and I would handle it on my own (politely to the guy at the front desk) a nurse rudely looked at me said "K" and thew my paperwork across the desk at him. I'm extremely appalled by this and I will be calling the management. That's extremely unprofessional. I will drive to Syracuse or Rochester before coming here. I'm also going to with drawing all my medical records and leaving as their patient.
Nurses and staff were horrible, rude, unhelpful and just plan nasty.
I hate it. Waited hours upon hours. Barely anyone had came that day. Plus, they misdiagnosed one of my childhood friends. Horrible hospital. Would rather recommend a box on the side of the road.
Worst hospital I've been in. Watched the nurses just chat and gossip the whole day. I sat waiting for them to take an empty ivy bag out for 3 hours.
I Have Always Had The Best Care at This Hospital. Great Doctors & Nursing Staff. The Lab Has Great Techs and Service. The Gift Shop is Wonderful As Well and The Coffee Shop is Amazing. The Emergency Room is Fast and Has Great Staff As Well. My Children and Family Just Love This Hospital.
I am an employee. Thompson was again named one of the top 150 hospitals in the country to work for. The nursing staff are excellent and administration is committed to offering the best care in our region. To the woman below who posted about the ultrasound, the tech is not allowed BY LAW to tell you their interpretation of the scan. It is out of the scope of practice and they could be held liable for acting as such. I'm sorry that was not explained to you. I urge the folks that have been displeased to formally complain so that for concerns are addressed.
