It's insane that this was only finally closed in 1996.

That's not even that long ago!!
And it's on Long Island!
Long Island!!!!

That's scary. People were abused and tortured there. An asylum is not a place of help. Not even today. It's a prison where people rot mentally and physically in a small room.

And this place is huge. It's huge and has so many floors.
Can you imagine being someone in there?

I think of American Horror Story: Asylum
But 10x more horrific, less drama, and not everything drama worthy would happen one after another to the same people.

And no one would be a main chatacher trying to escape the asylum.

God. It's so horrific just thinking about it. I almost like it.

Even today you could get lost in those halls and never come out. That's how huge the place is.

I stayed here recently and it was great. The activities building had this awesome pool and they even have their own fire department here. I REALLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a good stay on the Island.

The grounds are great to explore and walk around. Just make sure you obey the rules.

Security hides there at night in SUV's with lights off. We were walking through the quads and someone said they see a car in the dark. Suddenly the car turns on it's high beams and search lights then speeds toward us full throttle. We practically ran for our lives from this maniac in a SUV.

If you are looking to be adventurous, then this is the place. I do not recommend going to the "quads" at night. So many scary memories at this beautifully creepy place!
