Honestly their not awful but their not perfect i had my bf and dad go here their staff is always clueless and their surgeon DR. Shields is the RUDEST man i have ever met. He made my dad and family feel very comfortable. Id stay away from him if u need hip surgery. Hes not a pleasant man at all.

My experience has been one of a true nightmare. It took 3 different doctors to finally get a good enough xray to actually be able to diagnose what was wrong. Finally my husband was to return to work in a limited capability so he needed a form filled out. The desk clerk refused to take the form from him until after his next appointment which was in 5 days. Finally we had the appointment and left it with the desk clerk who said the doctor would fill it out and call us when it was all done. 2 1/2 days later we called to see what was going on. (He still can't work until this form is given to his lieutenant) They told us that we just need to give them time. Finally another day and half later it was done but was incomplete. Had to call again to have them take another day to finish it. We then told them we needed to come pick up the original and would be in to get it. When we went to pick up they informed us they destroyed it and that if we wanted another one we would have to wait until the doctor had time. I think doctors forget they are providing a service. There was only incompetent service here. Never go there, I feel as though their medical care was only as awful as their administration is.

I would highly recommend this place. Yes, they can be busy at times, but it's like any other place you go for medical help. For me the wait is well worth it as the doctors here are so professional, kind and understanding of your needs. Both my husband and I as well as our daughter have been very pleased with our services. The staff is very polite & professional from the time you enter the building till the time you leave. The physical therapy part of the building is the best as well. They will help you and work with your needs. I can say I never wanted to stop my therapy, but my time was done. Thank you to everyone at Excelsior Orthopaedics your truly the best!!!

Compassionate, communicative care from ortho surgeons. Efficient, engaging staff. PT was individualized and effective. Been a patient for the past 25 years for various athletic injuries. My recommendation as an excellent overall facility to friends and family.

Dr Wilkins recently did my ACL surgery with Hamstring tendon. I can't say enough great things about him. Even from the beginning he took a lot of time explaining everything from start to finish. Managed my expectations perfectly and even the surgery site is amazing, you will hardly be able to tell. His staff at Excelsior is great too, a well oiled machine. If you have to have PT I recommend Jill. She is really sweet! Gentle and thorough. Encourages you the whole way to get on your feet. I have a long road but know i'm in great hands.

If I could give this 0 stars I would this place is horrendous I had to take my father here because it's what Kenmore Mercy recommended.. I would advise people not to come here. I work in the medical field and this is not how you treat me. People are extremely rude who work there no one ever knows what is going on. We had an appointment there waited 2 hours in the waiting room to be told to come back another time because we needed to see a the Dr and there was not one there at that time. No one introduces themselves extremely unprofessional.

I can't comment on the care of the doctors there because I decided against taking my daughter here during the initial appointment phone call. No empathy, not helpful and felt like I was talking to a debt collector rather than a medical professional who could handle our needs. I was told they would not see my daughter for all of her ailments on the first visit. That to look at her right knee would have to be done during a separate appointment. Are you for real? I called UB Ortho and 2 out of 2 people I spoke with were friendly and professional and got us an appointment with a sought after doctor in less than a week. Get it together Excelsior.

Requested me to fill out the portal information prior to visit and arrive 30 minutes early. Apparently all the portal is for is collecting your email address and selling them because the questions were asked again upon arriving. When I made my appointment they said it would speed up the waiting process if I had it completed prior to arrival. They did not even pick up my paperwork until 30 minutes AFTER my appointment time. I know this because i was called back up 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to go over paperwork I filled out upon arrival an hour and a half earlir. Sitting the empty waiting room wondering what is going on and why no one seems to be doing anything at all. I can't even speak to the quality of the care given at this point but the ability to keep some kind of a schedule counts as something. This place would get zero stars based on that. I'd look else where in less you want to spend all you time in the lobby healing on your own. Edit: After finally being seen to the back moved from one room to another for additional hour. I had 10 minutes of xrays, 5 minutes with a doctor then 30 more minutes for the guy to get me an air cast and a pair of crunches. Well over 3 hours waiting for 15 minutes of work. Very poor quality of service.

Very busy office and you get the feeling of cattle being herded from one waiting area to another. I do not feel like I received appropriate or compassionate care for my fractures. The doctor didn't really spend any time with me and the nurse in his office left me in tears after removing my cast and telling me to put my brace on myself (with the opposite hand that was also broken and braced). Literally, cut off the cast and went back to her computer. The braces they gave me for my fractures were too big and not supportive, so I had to pay out of pocket at surgical store where I was fitted properly. The majority of cast technicians I saw (2 out of 3) didn't immobilize my thumb like they should have, and 1 made the cast so tight I needed an ER visit. After a few days of discomfort the front desk and staff were clearly starting to get annoyed with me. I am an adult on the autism spectrum and with the exception of one PA and one cast technician in Express, everyone else treated me like a nuisance/bother.

I would highly recommend finding another orthopaedic facility than Excelsior! My son had xrays done after a fall snowboarding. His primary physician, after confirming he had a clavicle fracture, sent us to Excelsior where we sat for 45 minutes waiting for our appointment. When we were finally taken back we sat for another 15 minutes before someone came and told us that in some cases surgery would be required but we would have to come back in 3 days to see the doctor who would decide this. as soon as we left their facility, I called another orthopaedic and switched his care to them! I now just received the billing from my insurance and imagine my surprise when I see my insurance was billed for $755
