This was easily the best sushi I've had in years. Excellent little hole-in-wall. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was exceptional. I'll be going back!
Food is amazing. Sushi is amazing. Amazing staff. Clean atmosphere. Try the bamboo sushi roll!
I absolutely loved this place. The food was delicious and the place felt like a very traditional Japanese restaurant. I will be coming back!
Excellent fresh food, carefully served. You'll find traditional Japanese offerings here along with what most Americans are comfortable with. Welcoming, comfortable and relaxed. So happy Ege is on the way home from work.
Very friendly staff, most of the seats were occupied at nearly 8pm on a Wednesday and the food was very good and made of high quality products. The price is also quite decent. The one downside is that the rolls were not rolled tight enough and would fall apart on you while picking them up. If not for the rolling issue, this would be a solid 5 star place. I will absolutely be back though.
Very rude. Basically empty at 5PM but insisted I sit at the sushi bar instead of one of the 5 empty tables. So much for a relaxed meal. Walked out.
Gah, this place is delicious. The "specials" menu is where it's at. Wonderful Japanese culinary treasures for the slightly more adventurous. The squid gratin, shishito peppers, and little curry fried shrimp are so delicious, I crave them constantly. Duck udon with fluffy, chewy soba is the perfect meal when you're not feeling great (or when you are). We've never had anything we didn't love here--it is such a treat!
My family and I went here one time and it was fantastic! Food and service was wonderful! On our second return the waitress even remembered I was the only one who can't use chop sticks! Love this place! We have been several times. Definitely a hidden treasure!
I've spent three summers abroad in Japan and always come back missing the food - US "Japanese" places just don't cut it. But Ege is the exception. It totally satisfies my craving for authentic Japanese dishes. It's the best you can get. Feels like genuine home cooked Japanese recipes.
I highly recommend calling ahead. There usually isn't a wait, but it is a very very small building (can maybe only comfortably seat like 20 people) and I've been there before where no tables are available. They usually take my reservation as little as 15 minutes ahead but it's good to have a seat waiting for you.
Best Japanese place in the states that I've been to. It makes me feel like I'm back there again. I highly recommend the tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) or unagidon (bowl of rice with eel) - they also have specials and those are always great too.
We ALMOST walked out of here cause the service first seemed slack. But we were so glad we stayed! The wait staff was very polite and friendly! The Sushi was awesome, and the other food was as well. Overall an excellent experience!
We love going to Ege. It's usually our place for date night and the food is great. Service is fantastic. When we walk in, beer is immediately poured and brought over to us along with a sushi menu. It's nice to go somewhere where they remember their customers, sushi is always fresh and yummy, and you don't have to get dressed up.
