The food used to be excellent, now it's just good. The staff is friendly, but they hover to the extent that sometimes they pick up your plate as you're still chewing the last bite. Their special garlic sauce is still great, but the food was only warm when it came out. I'm going to hope that I just caught them on a bad night, but I will hesitate to return.

We've been going here for years! Great food, friendly staff, fantastic, location right in the heart of Cranford.
The roasted garlic and the bread at the start of each meal are amazing! The lobster is great and I haven't had a bad steak here, ever. They serve desserts here also, though we prefer to walk a little bit after dinner before dropping in at a random other place for dessert.
There's a great, small, local movie theater almost right across the street for a great date night combo, too.response / report this review -

service wise 5 stars. Food I would go 4 stars because my penne with vodka sauce was good. and my friends roast of lamb was great!! prices were high: 32 for lamb and 20 for penne with vodka sauce with spicy sausage!!!

Service was very good, but food was just average. The only really good item was the complimentary bread with garlic sauce.
Everything was a bit pricey for the quality of the food. $13 for kids chicken fingers? $25 for shrimp & watery pasta? Ambience was very dark and old lookingprices don't match the restaurant.response / report this review -

Love this restaurant! Great for couples or families. Awesome menu options and GARLIC GARLIC GARLIC!
They have me at hello with the welcome bread and roasted garlic clove and pesto.

This is the first time at the garlic rose. We decided to go to this restaurant for New Year's Day 2017 dinner. What a great place the drinks the appetizers the French onion soup to our entrees the best food and great service. We were so pleasantly surprised. We want to thank you for a great beginning to the new year.

We went here to celebrate our recent wedding with some friends and family. Even though it was a busy Saturday, they had no problem taking our booking and accommodating us on the night, even setting up a table for our wedding cake. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, the service from our waiter was also fantastic and he couldn't do enough to help make the evening special.
I had the rack of lamb which was spectacular and all the guests commented on what a great night it was.
