Now called ASO Sushi. Staffed by the former employees of the legendary Siki in Lee's Summit. Great sushi and good prices.

Chello there. I'm creating this review as I dine in the Edokko soon to Aso Sushi restaurant. Before I dive into my review I must give a little background. I used to visit Edokko often after learning about them through my girlfriend. I'm relatively new to the sushi culture, but I have a great respect for it. My very first visit here not only did I receive fast and friendly serviceI also received a history lesson/culture. Not to mention that the food was FANTASTIC! Since then there has been a few management changes since my first visit a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, with those changes the experience has changed with it. The restaurant, I believe, is family owned and a bit under staffed so nowadays some patience is required. Today I had their crab Rangoon and Fancy salmon roll. I must admit the quality has not changed a bit. The Rangoon taste as close to authentic as I know of and the Fancy Salmon roll melts in your mouth. Combined with a bit of spicy mayo and soy sauce be prepared for a flavor explosion. I must admit for a while I was concerned about this little sushi jem but from my visit today I believe that it still shows great potential. I wish them the best.

Wow to start off, we got the Magic Mushroom 🍄 appetizer and it was heaven in my mouth. The burst 🎆 of warm sauce was so unexpected and pure love. The other sushis we ordered were so amazing. Wow! So different than what I've found at other places. Except they all come with a different amount of pieces and it doesn't say how many. 🍣🍥🍱

The food, atmosphere, decor and staff culminated for an outstanding dining experience. Didn't have the sushi though. More of a miso soup and noodle guy. They also have a premium drink selection. The sake flowed like water.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Midwest! I particularly appreciate the high quality tuna which I regularly order without hesitation. The owner and the staff are courteous and pleasant to talk to too. I understand there may be some new specialty food to be added in the near future.

Some of these reviews describe a lengthy wait time - that was not my experience. The wait was average for sushi and the service was exceptional. This location also has an all you can eat option for about $30 a person. That may seem like a high number but when you eat sushi like I do its worth it. Even for a single roll, basing my opinion just on taste I'd say they are the best in the area.
