  WE ARE NOT THE ART INSTITUTE.
  
  I am a first semester Junior at SUVA, I'm majoring in animation with my main focus being character creation, visual development and storyline development.
  
  I really enjoy SUVA and its staff. Professors that ENCOURAGE original works and unique styles that know what they're doing; classes that are engaging and don't rely on taking excessive notes and rely more on HANDS ON EXPERIENCE. There's a relationship based cirriculum, meaning that all the skills I've learned this year, I will be using to aid my design process for years to come.
  
  Staff is friendly, they help me find websites for scholarships and walk me through confusing paperwork for financial aid. They give me professional advice on how to be an elite creative professional.
  
  I love this school and would recommend it to friends and family.

  Absolutely love this school!! the registration is always so easy, you visit one guy who does everything! The teachers are relatable and genuinely care or have a passion for teaching. Class sizes are perfect 16 at my largest. Perfect fit for me.

  Please please please do not go to this school! These people are crooks and steal money from their students. Not only is the education they teach here more like middle school to high school art, but they also are very bad at what they do. If you go here and need financial aid to pay for things good luck all of that is sucked up so you get no money back to buy materials you will need. These people have had quite a few lawsuits against them and the one that I know of has to deal with the school taking out financial aid for a student without her knowledge when she did not attend one summer, her parents paid for tuition and supplies but the school wanted more money so they filed the student for financial aid without her consent. Their policies are ridiculous and they do not give you enough time to get over being sick or hurt before they will drop you from a class or classes and make you do an appeals process to determine if they should let you back in. I do not go to this school I go to a real college but I know a lot of people who go here and have been trying to get them to drop this school before they end up with so much debt its unbelievable. The bookstore which is supposedly not part of the school its self is never really open to the public unless someone just happens to walk in and the admin owes the book store thousands of dollars which takes them more than a year to pay back and they wonder why the bookstore is not doing good with sales. This place is a scam and ripoff and if you truly want your child or yourself to get a great art education go to a real college and not this place. Many people who have graduated from this place end up working regular jobs like at bookmans or fast food because they are not a credited school. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere.

  This school is amazing. The teachers are super awesome and the administration staff is really helpful. The other students are nice and it feels like a real community here.

  Love the one on one expeireance that you get in the classroom. The staff and students are like a big family, everyone is there for each other. Definitely would recommend this school to anyone looking to go into anything from animation all the way to painting and print making. 10/10

  Thank you to SUVA Albuquerque for being such a great partner with The American Advertising Federation New Mexico. It was our honor to hold our first luncheon at the Albuquerque campus. Joanne Pils and the students could not have done a better job to make it a success. It is always a benefit to all when Professionals and Students can share the same space. Thank you for hosting.

  I recently hosted a luncheon at the SUVA gallery in Albuquerque. The staff and students were welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The building was clean. The technology met our needs. The gallery had beautiful art on the walls and made for a great ambiance. I would highly recommend this venue for a unique function.

  SUVA is a great place to learn Art and Design if you're interested in being in the Southwest of the United States. Not only does it teach the "How" of making art, but also the "Why".
  
  Friendly front office staff, incredibly knowledgeable instructors, small classes = more attention/ability to ask questions.
  
  Final year of your degree allows you to personalize your projects to fit what you see yourself doing after you obtain your degree.

  Suva has given insight as to where i fit into in the art world. The foundation classes helped me to become a much stronger artist and the animation classes gave me skills and a new appreciation for the artform itself.
  
  But this is one story. Suva is not for everyone. The people who do well here are the driven, and have high aspirations of thriving in this industry. And the teachers are more than encouraging and helpful in this regard. Ive met with teachers outside of class to get a realistic view of the industry as well to help shape ideas that i couldn't put into words.
  
  I have struggled here, but this place has given me tools and skills to be successful outside. I have gotten several freelance jobs on my own because of these. This is a place i would recommend the driven individual, who not only wants to learn the how but the why, who sees themselves going far, and who is willing to put in the work to make that dream a reality.

  I am currently working on my BA in Illustration. I was given a place to stay while attending school and getting situated in my move and I also was given a job here at the school. Just like the school had told me they would give me.
  
  The education has not only improved my skills as an artist but also look beyond the how to do aspect. The education teaches you to see perspective (not just visual but also emotional.) They start with the basics in art with creating in black and white (with grays) (light and shadow) as well as seeing in shapes rather than copy what you see. This can be boring for more advanced artists but there is an appreciation and a reason behind it. (If you have art books they all teach you with the basics and then build off with it in more advance ways; the education here is in the same aspect.) As an artist you learn to create with different emotions, and teachers are open to teaching and allowing you to explore different options. If you want to do something, you can do it.
  
  I take the time and responsibility to make sure financially everything is okay. I make appointments to ensure that every semester I have no "surprises." I hold onto all my receipts and if there is any issue, I don't wait until the last minute. I also check my loans and pay off any interest that is growing.
  
  What I came in knowing about the school prior and what I have personally experienced currently attending have been educational and positive.
