Early Girl Eatery is definitely a place to go if you're either very hungry or budget-conscious because the portions are well-sized and for a reasonable price compared to a lot of Asheville establishments. They have specials on the board (always good to have changing specials: shows creativity) plus a base menu. Fun to draw on the brown paper set down on the tables as well for those who need to keep busy while talking. Overall great place to get food.

Not only does the food taste great, but the staff are friendly and the eatery itself is super cute! I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my friend ordered the sweet potato and bacon scramble, both of which we loved. They serve nice big portions and have a great view of the park outside by the window seats. Would recommend this place for sure!

It's been years since I had last visit Asheville and I use to make it a point to stop here for breakfast on all my trips. Always had great food/service back then. Well I was in town this week and stopped by this morning and the service was mediocre. Maybe it was our waiter, but he just seemed a little rude when I asked a few questions about the menu and not very attentive. Also all drinks we ordered were served without ice. It wasn't just us but I noticed everyone in the restaurant was served this way. Food was still good but the experience I use to feel here in past visits was just gone. I remember back then they use to have pencils/crayons for you to draw on the paper put over the tables and they were no where to be seen. The place was crowded this morning and no one was drawing. Hate to say it but I think I'll be finding a new breakfast place next time I'm in town.

Delicious breakfast food. This was my third time here and every visit has been great. I highly recommend coming here for breakfast. They are usually busy and sometimes you have to wait but it's worth it. Our server had purple hair and gave us phenomenal service, best I've ever had here which is saying a lot. I will make sure to stop here again in the future while in beautiful Asheville!

Seated quickly but too close to another couple. Our waitress had purple hair and a nose ring. I ordered a salad without carrots and got a " dry salad" which had wilted lettuce and no dressing. So no carrots means no dressing. My friend spilled her ice tea and the waiter with a nose ring and a smile gave her a bunch of napkins for her to wipe it up with. Never offered to replace her tea. They did after I asked for a replacement. Poor experience for the price. And no southern comfort food unless one considers tofu and feta cheese a comfort food. Steer clear of this place.

Once you get a table, the service is very fast and the food was delicious. Definitely would recommend getting a biscuit! Brace yourself for a long wait to get a table if you plan on going over the weekend.

I wish they had better A/C during the hot and muggy summer months, but other than that I've always enjoyed my experiences here. Tried a variety of menu items and always enjoyed them. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating.

A little off the beaten path, though well worth the trip! I had a Local Sausage and Sweet Potato Scramble with an excellent, fresh cup of coffee, with raw sugar and fresh cream; and polished it off with Hummingbird Cake. Rare for me to have eggs without cheese, but this didn't need it, served with a to-die-for biscuit and raspberry jam for that zing. And if you like the sound of fruitcake but are disappointed every time you put it in your mouth, like me, then Hummingbird is the light, frosted, dreamlike answer to that. They take the team approach to provide friendly, timely, comfortable service, though Addie was my gracious server that afternoon. The atmosphere was perfect, a little rustic, a little cafeteria, a little restaurant, with eclectic music an A LOT of smiles. Coming from Chicago, I've been too plenty of diners, culinary adventures, etc. Early Girl leaves a lasting good taste, and I will definitely go back when I'm in town.

We went for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The fried green tomatoes were EXCELLENT. The biscuits and gravy were not as good as I had hoped. Service was top notch. Loved the keys on spoons for the restroom.

Great food. Great service.. But where the hell are the bathrooms? Its a maze to find them. Then you finally do and realize those spoons on the wall 5 miles away back at the restaurant weren't just some odd wall decoration they made from a pintrest find.. Those were the damn keys to the bathroom door.

This place is awesome! Go see that amazing server Elijah! The portions could use a touch of work so I can go full 5 but its totally worth eating here.
