My husband had the donbori and I had the white Tiger roll- very fresh and cooked perfect. Our server Taylor V. Was helpful with picking out our dishes with infused sake! Differently will go back!! Great relaxed atmosphere -
I had salmon, and my friend had chicken. We both felt like our proteins were dry/over cooked.
We had the gyoza for an appetizer. It was tasty, but the sauce that came with it tasted like straight rice wine vinegar. Over all for the price I paid I was expecting a little more.
The worst sushi experience i have ever had. The prices are way too high for how underwhelming their food is. The portion sizes are fit for for a toddler, especially don’t go if you’re hungry.
Note: Do not order the Drunken Tofu unless you enjoy paying $6 for uncooked tofu.
First time at Drunken Fish very good food was very impressed with what the waitress suggested!!! I wish I could remember her name ( for kudos )because she was great
Super nice staff, friendly smiles abound. Fast service, great atmosphere, tasty sushi, cold beer on tap, cold, cloudy sake (that's a good thing), and across the street is a movie theater! What more could you ask for?!
Had a poor experience my first time but the district manager contacted me directly and took care of the situation. Great customer service in that sense. Will be going back to give it another chance!
Look man, I'm from Denver. Sure that shouldn't make me anything close to an expert but we are known for having great sushi despite being land locked. I come to town regularly for business and I thought "KC is a cool city. I like Tech 9. They probably have good sushi here." If I could go back in time 2 hours future me would say "Nah bro, they don't." KC does bbq. KC doesn't do sushi. The service was fine. The prices were what I'd expect to pay for sushi but for good sushi - Denver or West of it sushi. The food was okay at best. No disrespect to KC. Fellas and the ladies know. I'll just do bbq next time.
Great service but the food was no good. Sushi dry and not impressive. The chicken teriyaki bowl tasteless and missing salt. It is cheap but will rather pay few extra and gain flavors.
The first time I went here I had a horrible experience, I called back the day later and explained to the manager what happened and he offered to take care of our food. When I can back in I got amazing service from Hayden. They completely changed my mind from the experience I had the first time. I would definitely recommend visiting.
One of the best Sushi restaurants I have been to. The sushi was good, the fried rice had a small hint if sweetness, and their bonsai (clear or onion soup at other places) soup was extremely flavorful.
I love the Drunken Fish!! It's one of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City.
What I love is the food & the service. Food always tastes great. I'm not a sushi connoisseur, but it is the best sushi I've ever had. I love the Tempura Vegetables for an appetizer, and my favorite sushi rolls are the Fried Philly Roll & the Mango Roll. The regular Philadelphia Roll and the White Tiger rolls are also really good.
The sushi is always fresh, tastes great. Service is great. I think the prices are pretty fair/average for eating out somewhere. There is out door seating for warm weather, as well as a roof top bar which is open during the summer. It's a great view of the P&L area!
On Fridays, definitely call ahead for dinner (must call at least 2 hours ahead to reserve a seat). They get realllly busy on Fridays.
In door lighting is a bit dark, and some of my friends have mentioned they wish it weren't so dark. I could appreciate it being a little brighter inside, but I've been to restaurants that are a lot darker.
Overall, great place and great service. I love it and I always get really excited whenever I go.
Great Service and Sushi. Lunch specials are the best deal. Can get a little pricey otherwise. They make amazing dessert rolls!
planned our meal when it would not be busy. We are exploring the city and using Groupon to help open new places.
We arrived at 2 and the place was almost empty. This allowed us to take our time and ask questions about the menu. The waiter was so happy to have time to talk. The manager come by too. Both offered advice and insight to the menu, restaurant and area.
We ordered two roll right from the menu. In the mid west there seems to be a lot of cream cheese on rolls and as well as mayo. While flavorful, not exactly what we wanted. The waiter suggested we try something simple and have the chef kick it up with some jalapeno and spicy oil.Bingo!!! Home run
we till return! very enjoyable and relaxing
