  The hotel had a good restaurant and many different amenities. We had a good time by the pool and the whirlpool hot tub. Our room was comfortable and had very comfortable beds. The only downside for us was that the lobby seemed very far away and disconnected.

  The rooms are very spacious and quiet. Couldn't hear anything outside my room. Rooms have fridges and AC works well. The sheets on one of the beds had chocolate smeared on it. The hotel isn't located near too much and it can be a pain to try to walk anywhere as there are no sidewalks.

  I am a 19 year old business owner from New York. I prepaid for my entire stay before I took the long seven hour drive to Pittsburgh. I assumed that because I was of the legal age to do something such as go to war or become a police officer that I should be able to check in to a simple hotel but I was apparently mistaken.
  
  When I finally got to the hotel, the counter manager was very nice. I gave him my information and he found a room for us. Everything was good until he asked me if I was over the age of 21. I stated that I was 19 and expected no trouble. He then told me that it's not possible to for me to check into my own room even though I prepaid for the entire thing and clearly had no plans of doing anything stupid. He tried contacting the general manager who wasn't there that day (noon on Saturday). That took about 30 minutes to get in contact with the general manager while I assume that the conversation lasted less than two minutes. The seven hour drive, me prepaying my entire stay and me owning my own company meant absolutely nothing to them. The counter manager was very nice and wanted to help me but it was all up to the general manager to override it. They turned me down as you may have presumed.
  
  I tried looking into other hotels and motels just for the evening but the majority wanted the check in age to be 21 or up. It stumbles me how hotels can turn down a paying customer who is within the legal age to do many obscure things. I personally find this to be a form of discrimination.
  
  I ended up having to drive seven hours back to New York late at night and tired. As you may imagine, this is essentially me risking my life because the majority of hotels including the DoubleTree by Hilton in Pittsburgh want me to be one and a half years older before I can book my own stay.
  
  This should seriously be talked about more. This isn't just a problem with the doubletree by Hilton but they definitely contribute to it. I try not to put emotion into my views but this is absolutely ludicrous. It's no different from if somebody turned you down because of your gender or ethnicity.
  
  For the majority whom are over the age of 21, you should be absolutely fine at this hotel. However for a small percentage, I wish you the best of luck finding somewhere. If not then I would highly recommend that you sleep at a rest stop for the night. I would not recommend driving long distances without doing so. You may encounter major life threatening issues as I did.

  Food was o.k. definitely not worth it for the price. Margherita Pizza was good. Steak was overcooked and only came with potatoes in a thick syrupy sauce. Service was a 5. My drink was empty 3 times server could not be found.seem him only 3 times throughout the experience. Order two desserts to go. Was in very cheap stryofoam. Leaked all over the place also used a very cheap bag. Worst then a grocery bag.

  The rooms here are nice, and they are a LOT better than they were before DoubleTree bought and renovated the whole building. I had my wedding here, and this is, hands down, the BEST wedding venue I've ever been to. It's a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for and more. The staff here are extremely helpful and friendly, the bar between the lobby and the event rooms was the perfect ending to the night, and it was also a great place for the night before the wedding to meet with family and have everyone together.
  
  The options here are incredible, considering you don't really have to leave the building for most things. They have a wonderful pool, and serve Starbucks in the little food shop downstairs. I definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in or near Pittsburgh, or planning on having a wedding. So much better than the alternatives in the price range.
