RE: Shaydee Blue “BED BUGS BED BUGS BED BUGS”

So I booked this hotel before reading the reviews. Having read your specific review, I called the hotel to discuss it, particularly because I had a traumatic experience with BED BUGS before. I wanted to hear the hotel’s side of the story. Though it was my intention to cancel my reservation, I still wanted to give the hotel and opportunity. However, the operator I spoke, immediately became defensive when I brought up the review, telling me that I can stay wherever I want and I am entitled to my opinion and reaction based on other customers reviews. Her behavior got increasingly more unprofessional as I challenged her to conduct herself with better Customer Service Experience. My interaction alone with her over the phone was enough for me to follow through with the cancellation and find your experience to be a credible and reliable one!

    I am staying away!

    FULL STOP!

Both Hilton Honors floors ice machines were down. The room was missing a mini fridge and traffic from the freeway is loud throughout the night. Area is nice and hotel is clean. Bar had good specials on draft beers.

BED BUGS BED BUGS BED BUGS!!!!!! Stayed at this location for 3 nights in Mid October 2017..
On day 2 I noticed bites on my chest and face that progressively became itchy and begin to spread by Day 3. I informed front desk at check out that something in the room may have bit me and I assumed maybe a mosquito since I've never been bitten by bed bugs. Long story short I ended up going to the Emergency Room of my local hospital and the diagnosis from the doctor was that I had been bitten by bed bugs. $1000 hospital bill laterI contact the hotel to complain to the Assistant GM who stated he would block out the room and contact pest control for inspection and that he or the Director of Engineering would be in touch within a week. 3 weeks pass and I hear nothing back so I contact the GM of the location. GM states "oh yes, the inspection showed no signs of bed bugsthen proceeded to explain to me that the symptoms I described did not sound like bed bugs, he also debated with me that he has never heard of a doctor prescribing anything to treat bed bugs and he thought it was treated with anti-itch onlybasically implying that I was lying and exaggerating about what the doctor had prescribed me(i guess he is also a part-time doctor on his days off) He never apologized and stated that he would send me a copy of the pest control report for my own review. It has been another 3 weeks and I have heard nothing back from this hotel. Absolutely disgusted with my experience. And stuck with a $1000 hospital bill. Had to steam clean my entire home and wash everything I own in hot water as precaution. I will be contacting corporate and writing this review on every travel site as the leadership team at this hotel has treated me as if I'm lying. I've never asked them for anything, just the follow up to confirm the status of bed bugs or not so that I can protect myself at home. Do not stay here if you want to avoid bed bugs and a leadership team that is unapologetic and will treat your complaints as the lowest priority. I'm also a Hilton Rewards Member.worst Hilton customer service ever and disgusting bed bugs.

The pros: Easy access to the highway, very nice area. Walking distance to restaurants and movie theater. Freindly staff, clean/modern room, and free parking. The cons: No fridge, hot tub wasn't working properly, no free WiFi, and very $$$ restaurant. Did not care for the $6 charge when my kids accidentally drank the 2 bottles of water left on the dresser (conveniently) after eating their warm gooey cookies at check-in.

I was very impressed by the staff's customer service. They have a cookie warmer drawer at the front desk and you can have as many cookies as you want. The location was convenient, and close to the freeway.

Funky location but the hotel is great! The room I stayed in was beautiful, light and modern. They were having great rates due to construction nearby. Free parking.

Checked in at 10:00 pm night manager was rude and condescending. Instead of welcoming me, he just demanded a drivers license. After verifying we were diamond members the manage informed me I could not use the credit card on file because my husband was not right beside me. When I explained I had just driven seven hours and my kids and I were exhausted and my husband was flying in later and we had never had an issue like this before, he Arrogantly informed me he did not care what other Hilton properties have doneat this hotel if my husband was not with me I was not allowed to use the credit card we had made the reservation with even if my husband would be at the hotel later. So if you are more interested in a room than good customer service and you like being greeted after a long drive by a manager who has the customer service skills of a disgruntled bouncer at a low class night club than this is the place for you. Will never come back here!

The hotel is nice but they have disabled the ability to change inputs on the TV. I really like to use my Chromecast when I travel so this is a deal breaker for me. I do prefer this DoubleTree over the one in Whittier though.

Accommodations quite nice. Breakfast very poor for such an expensive hotel. Operation at breakfast slow and reluctant.

Has its bright points. The staff is friendly. Breakfast at the restaurant was good. However, it was interesting that there was no wine list due to new management.

Great place to stay even though Norwalk seems to be going through its own gentrification. The gym is pretty good just a bit small. All the equipment is new. Close to some good restaurants especially if you love mexican. The room was clean and fairly spacious.

Nice hotel until you reach your room. Very outdated and worn down. We had to move rooms because the shower would not shut off and the ice machine was literally attached to our wall and kept us up all night. For the price this hotel charges I would think it would be kept up better.

The room they put us in smells funny and is also worn down. Even the carpet has holes worn into it.

Location is great. Staff is great. Parking is great.

    Rooms are unsatisfactory!
