They take good care of the pets here. I can't always find what I'm looking for but I know someday I will.
Saw a purple spotted hyena there. He can read my thoughts. We merged minds. Then I saw it. The reason for life. I and He are one. He and I are none. We are no longer just me or He. Now are me and He. He will come when we need him most, and He and I are powerful. He is Law, and his name Billy Bob Joe.
Such a great place. Went in a few years to just take a look at some pups and we actually got to take an older white german shepard out for a walk. I love how much love the staff has to go around.
Huge place with many animals, especially cats that need a good home, adoption fee is pretty reasonable for rabbits. there are small critters at this location.staff is very helpful. There are animals without sponsors and could use your help
Very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers and staff. Their animals seemed well cared for. Adopt a rescue here.
A massive facility for just a handful of animals. Imo: The facility is simply overkill and an example of wasted tax dollars.
The people that work at the Human Society of Dane County are gentle and very caring. They help ease the stress of a rough situation.
The service was very friendly and helpful. They made the process of adopting a kitten incredibly simple and smooth for my friend and made sure she understood what the society did for the pet, what they offered in their store, and what she would still need to have done later as the kitten grew up.
Went about a half hour before closing time to view a bunny to adopt as a companion for my current bunny. Found one that we seemed to really like, so we asked if we could meet her. They declined, saying they "just didn't have time" (there was no one in there besides us), and that they stopped doing viewings an hour before close. The young girl working the counter told us to come back another day, even though we said we couldn't (I'm finishing up a job in Madison this week before moving; she was clearly unfamiliar with real careers). We were told that bunnies often stay in the shelter for months, so you'd think they would jump at the opportunity to send one home. Really annoying and we won't be going back for that rabbit, that deserved to be viewed tonight.
Don't ever get a pet here they are two timing robbers. My wife and I got a dog from here that was sick and wrecked our stuff and couldn't be left alone and tried to bite my wife. There is no way in hell I'll ever set foot in this place again. I hope all of your funding goes away and so do you.
Called multiple times about wanting to adopt a dog and they told us that we would first have to come see him and that they would not let anyone take him home on the first day because he has been returned before. They sounded so eager to make sure the dog went to the right home. We told them that we were driving out out to see him and right when we got into the parking lot they tell us that someone came in to see him and adopted him. We drove an hour and a half and they ended up lying to us and sent the dog home with someone that only saw him once which they said they would not do. We called multiple times to assure them we want the dog and they said that was ok. I am not sure why they had to act like they really cared where the dog went to if they just handed him away anyway.
I just got rats from here and they are sweethearts! They even gave some of their bedding and food to make their transition to their brand new home easier. Ivy and Belina are so cute!
Very helpful staff walked us through the adoption process and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Great work done here!
We adopted our dog through the Dane County Humane Society. They were really nice, fast, and we were allowed to take home our wonderful dog the day that we met him! Dane County Humane Society provided all the previous owner paperwork, a first night kit, and later followed up with additional rabies and microchip information that we forgot to discuss about on the initial day. Total cost was ~$300, which I thought was a reasonable asking price because pets are expensive initially and long term. Overall, my experience was very good and positive!
