The biggest turn off for me was the $100 security deposit I was forced to pay at check in. This was on top of paying for the reservation which I did months in advance. The main lobby was beautiful, but the hallways and rooms were in much worse repair. It looked like our door had been broken at some point, and poorly repaired. In the end it was a safe place to sleep. I ended up getting my security deposit back so I can't complain to much.
I know the standard is pretty high (or should be) when it comes to accommodation, but this 2-star hotel met wholly my expectations. The price was low and I got what I bargained for. Of course it's an old hotel, but other than that, my experience was o.k. Clean room, working shower and a convenient shuttle to and from the airport. Also, it was like 2:30 p.m. and they still let me check in, which was great.
Everyone talks from experience, and mine was fortunate.
The coffee in the room was horrible. The required $100 room deposit SUCKS. That being s aid, any issues I had, the staff was very helpful and quick to solve. The cost was cheap, the service great, the amenities tolerable, and the location was perfect. However, when I went outside to smoke @ 10-ish, there were Irving cops in the courtyard on a call. Too much drama for my taste.
not a very good place to stay. it may have once been a very nice hotel but it's now run down. I booked online and they don't tell you you must place an 100$ deposit for the room and it takes two days or more to get it back. the first room I was placed in was terrible two pillows had no covers and were very stained. the curtains had some brown red stain on the carpet was stained. I would not stay again
This hotel is currently undergoing major renovations - including an expansion. This place clearly used to be a high end hotel and conference center. But the previous management obviously didn't prioritize maintenance so the current management has a mess on their hands. I walked through the hotel. The dehumidifier for most of the building is is failing. Parts of the building are adequately cooled. But most of the building isn't cool or is very humid so it doesn't feel cool. A lot of the facings and upholstery are worn. The carpets are in terrible need of deep cleaning. The elevators need to be cleaned and waxed. But there are work crews working on the building. And they do a decent job of keeping quiet. I didn't go near the pool. I couldn't go to the conference rooms, bar or restaurant because they were closed. From what I understand the conference rooms are opened only when in use. The bar and restaurant are open on weekends, holidays and for other large events.
Absolutely the worse "hotel" I've ever checked into. Dirty room. Peeling paint hanging from the ceiling. The bed linens were filthy, no refrigerator, broken lamps and it smelled bad.
The desk staff were abrupt and rude when the problems were brought up to them. No offer to assist. Shady characters hanging around the parking area. I started to itch before we could get out of the facility an hour after check in. No refund forthcoming. We were told it would take 2-3 days.
Stay away!!
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!.DO NOT STAY HERE !!! Absolutely horrible place to stay in. I want to give 0. A lot of long term residents most of them are homeless hanging out in lobby and outside parking lots i was nervous soon I walked in and worried about my car, I checked in and checked out in 20 Minutes after I had a flight for 4 hours. And my booking was 7 days stay. Manager is very rude, they provided me a very dirty room no blanket & pillow on mattres, bathroom extremely dirty, carpet is filthy as well as walls, unbelievable !! Not even near what is described and advertised online including pictures. When I asked for my refunds they refused but am going through legal way to get my refunds.
PLEASE FIND BETTER HOTEL IS NOT WORTH IT PAYING SPENDING YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE.
You should be able to give this hotel a zero. The lack of cleanliness automatically triggered my asthma and allergies. When I entered the lobby, I immediately began having problems breathing. I began to develop a migraine after being there for ten minutes. The hallway smelled like mildew and mold; the smell was even stronger in the room.
The room was humid. There was mold in the bathroom and the sheets did not look clean. There was dust in the air vents. The decor was extremely dated and there was an odor coming from the carpet.
The night staff was decent. I had no issues checking in and getting my deposit back when I left after being there for less than 20 minutes. They offered to upgrade my room. I politely declined given the medical reasons listed above. I asked for a refund and they stated I would have to speak with management.
MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!! I spoke with Brandy this morning and she stated that they would not issue me a refund because they offered a room upgrade. Her tone was abrasive and she lacked customer service. She did not once apologize for the condition of the room. An upgrade is unacceptable when the cleanliness of the hotel is in question.
I should have taken pictures but I was too focused on looking for another hotel. It is a cheap hotel for a reason.
The original rate was pretty cheap, just $50. That is the reason my husband and I decided to have a night alone at this hotel. Well, we get there and I have to pay a $100 deposit to get checked in. I have never had to do this at any other hotel i have stayed at. Finally, we made it into our room and, although clean, the room was pretty bare and there was rust in the tub. The room also had a window that faced out into the lobby and, although we closed the curtains, we were still able to see lights shining in from the lobby. Luckily, we couldn't hear anything. Also, at around two in the morning, a squad of three cop cars were parked out front of the lobby for a reason unknown to us. However, the bed was very comfortable and there weren't bed bugs in our room, so that's good.
If they even deserve one star. They have mice, bugs and bed bugs. The management is horrible and kick people out left and right, towing their car with their free parking. Room has flooded and they kept me in it. Discusting and nasty rooms the right side is extended stay while h they do NO vacuuming or housekeeping maybe will they empty trash bins every other day. Not one ice machine works. The restaurant was closed from the health department. Stay away!!! They will take your $100 deposit. This hotel should be very ashamed
It's old. You can tell it was once a top notch hotel. I mean, it's huge. Indoor pool with rooms surrounding the lobby. If they renovated the place, then it would be amazing. Unfortunately they haven't, and there place is pretty run down and semi creepy. For the price, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Staff were nice.
The overall hotel is old and dirty. The entire first floor smells off. The rooms are rather spacey but you'll have to pay extra to have a mini fridge and microwave brought up. This was the cheapest place around but in the future I will pay extra for a nicer hotel. Not bad for one or two nights but for anything longer you should do yourself a favor and stay somewhere nicer.
If I could give the place a 0 rating I would. I rented a room for a month. The room had mice. When informed the management said no other rooms where available and ignored my complaint. This was their stance even after putting a dead mouse on their counter and showing them pictures of mouse droppings. I moved out early. To make things worse my home is now infected with mites that live on mice. I have been unable to get rid of them even after massive and frequent insecticide use. I am being constantly bitten.
If you happen to book this hell hole through a travel site, you probably won't be told about the mandatory $100 deposit required before you can check-in. The amenities are deceiving considering you can't use them. But what really takes the cake is the knock at my door at 10 p.m. from the hotel staff period when inquiring who it was the reply received was absolutely asinine. From outside the door I was told that they're doing a room check and they needed to enter my room. For no other reason than morbid curiosity I decided to open the door. Two hotel staff members proceeded to enter only get enough to have a view of the full room. with no explanation for their intrusion, they simply said, "Thank you," and started to walk out. When I asked what exactly they were looking for, they replied, "Oh, we're going room to room because we're missing luggage carts." Are you kidding me? 10 p.m. at night and they're looking for luggage carts. Now considering you can hear every door that opens and closes all down the hallway from inside the room, it was obvious they were lying and for whatever profound reason thought it necessary to make this an extremely uncomfortable and quite sketchy night.
