Nice clean and quiet hotel. Pool was closed for the season. Breakfast is same as others. Overall is pretty good.
Well 3 years ago I reviewed this place as a great place. The place was ok then as far as up to date. The staff was great. Fast forward and the place has been renovated and looks great but the staff is now the most incompetent people I've ever seen. They lost property I left in the room. You can't get a van ride anywhere cause of laziness but I witnessed the van driver apparently very available to take staff home at will. The group I was with asked if cookies were available and the front desk person proceeded to go check. After about 10 min she comes out with a plate of cookies and then sits down with her friends and eats them. And never returns to my group or the lobby. People at this place need to be fired before they run the whole place to the ground. Management wake up!!!
PROS: comfortable bed, great service at the front desk & breakfast had many options.
CONS: Pool says indoor & outdoor but the pool is outside and closed (had we known that we definitely wouldn't have stayed), water pressure wasn't that great for bath, shower head leaked as well, we could hear the people in the room next to us (all night!), heard a dog barking early morning and I was suppose to receive an email with my receipt but I still have not received an email (I've checked spam and all! We checked out at noon, it's 11pm! I also called at 5pm and they said they would resend it Still nothing)!
UPDATE: After talking with my bank and trying all day Monday to speak with a general manager.. NOTHING. No call back, no answer. I called this morning to speak with the general manager, the "assistant" manager then answered and was rude. I ended up hanging up and now will proceed to the next step. Never will we book to stay at country inn again!
We used the University Location. They allowed us to check in early morning rather than having to wait until 3pm. They also had a pretty decent breakfast available with make your own waffles, ham, eggs, and the tradional bakery items and cereal. Looks like it recently got a makeover as well. The downside is that the pool was an indoor/outdoor pool which was CLOSED for the season
The hotel rooms are pretty nice, good size. There are a bunch of restaurants near by and a light rail is being built nearby and once complete will make getting around much easier. The breakfast in the morning is basic, but good, both hot and cold options.
We stayed in a room that looked modern and recently updated. The bed and pillows were so soft, but the thing that really stood out is how quiet it was. We couldn't hear the guests in the hall or the cars and train outside. The hot breakfast was quite nice and stayed open a few minutes late. The outdoor/indoor pool was small and had quite a few small insects in it, but it wasn't too bad. Construction is ongoing but didn't effect us at all. Overall it was a great stay and well worth the low price.
We were here during an extensive remodel. The workers were busy tearing apart the rooms around us and dumpsters were overflowing on both sides of the building. That being said, we never once heard a hammer or drill until we opened our door. It was quite and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and they offered everything you expect from Country Inn & Suites. I'll come back. Can't wait to see the new design.
I would've given this place 5 stars, but we were originally checked into a dirty room. The staff was helpful can kind enough to give us a free upgrade to a suite for the trouble. Rooms were nice and the overall appearance of the hotel was great. We would definitely return if in the area.
We checked in late and were told that our room had been given to someone else, and our booking had been cancelled. To their defense they had called us, but we were at a concert and couldn't pick up at the time. The concierge was able to find 1 room for us to stay in and stated that we were "lucky". Shouldn't need luck to check into a room you had booked and paid for a week in advance. The room itself was fine - sheets were clean, bathroom was clean and everything was overall pleasant. But the booking fiasco left a bad taste in my mouth.
I had an Excellent Experience at the Country Inn and Suites. Jacuzzi in the room and spacious! The staff were all very pleasant, nice, and accommodating! Also Rooms that are already nice being Revamped. Can't wait to come back!
I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN ! We reserved our room in Jan. then called to confirm reservation the day before we checked in on June 9th. Checked into hotel, stayed in our room for a few hours then headed to the rock concert we were there to attend. When we returned to our room the card keys would not work. We went to the front desk to tell them we could not get in our room and were then informed we were required to give them a $100 deposit. At no point and time were we EVER told we were to give a $ 100 deposit ! Not when I reserved the room, not when I confirmed my reservation, not when we checked in and not in the 2 hours we were in our room before leaving for the concert. We were told at 1am ! They refused to refund my money and refused to let us get our property from the room. I'm sure they ran my card to get the deposit but since there was not enough for the deposit they then decided to lock us out. I was furious that a friend in our group had to pay the deposit so we could be let in our room. We were told that different hotels in their chain have different policies when it comes to deposits. I can't help but wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that we were attending a heavy metal concert. I would not give this hotel even 1 star but in order to post this I had to !
Nice, comfortable and overall clean room. We had a king with a whirlpool tub. The mat in the tub I'm the actual bathroom wasn't well clean or was just old and the card reader on our door seemed to be dieing but overall we enjoyed our stay!
