The room was clean but the bathroom was not. There was urine and pubic hair on the toilet seat and someone’s washcloth hung over the shower curtain rod. The tv worked for the first few minutes and then the picture started going in and out. Eventually the picture stopped working and all I️ had was audio. Had to keep turning the tv on and off to get the picture to come back on.
Room was not clean and had a musty/moldy smell. Bathroom had hair on dead bugs on the floor. Front desk staff was friendly enough, but not helpful. Stayed 5 nights and housekeeping never even considered emptying the 2 overflowing trash cans we left by the door for them to see. Reserved a double queen one bedroom suite and got a tiny room with two queen beds with only $5 off of the entire bill. Room was already overpriced. Terrible disappointment. The only bonus was the popcorn served Monday through Wednesday evening, and occasionally fresh baked cookies.
First, to the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
By looking at your mission statement, I can understand your lack of interest in how your franchised hotels are ran.
As I travel as part of my employment, I experience many on the road inconveniences, and except those experiences, as the cost of doing business.
But, when I take my family for a quick get away and pay $100/night (taxes included), I do not expect to see water stains and patched holes in the sheet rock of the bath and closet (Rm 140). Loose and leaking faucet fixtures (Rm 241). Stained and ripped furniture, not to mention, the damp mildewy smell (Rm 338). Outdated furniture and furnishings through out your hotel.
A night stand that hadn't be cleaned in so long, the back of the Bible was stuck in the drawer.
When I asked about the cookies that were supposed to greet patrons at the door. I was told the oven was broken and it would be fixed the following day. A little more up roar and the freshly baked cookies were at my door within 2 hours of checking in.
The following day I went down to take my little girl to the indoor pool and had to ask the staff for a net to clean the pool myself before she got in.
For the money, $65 a/night, (online), the Econo lodge on Dawsonville Rd, is well worth the money when the pool is clean. Rooms are contemporary.
I would not have stayed at this hotel, if not for Albany States Housing overflow.
This is a great place to stay. Comfy. Nice pool and hot tub, good breakfast. Only criticism is that the staff does not pay attention to detail. Will refill coffee but not sugar or cream. Does not check public bathrooms for soap and towels. Things like that. Could be outstanding but is just average.
Perfect location. Great part of town. Close to restaurants and stores. Beautiful lobby. Indoor pool and hot tub was great. Friendly staff.
Absolutely disappointed with this hotel. First, the air in the hotel isn't working so the staff put a portable ac unit in our room without calling and informing us of this, we had to walk into our suite to find out ourselves. When this was brought to the front desk attendant attention, we were informed that Maintenance just put the portable unit into the room before we arrived at 5pm. It's now 10:15pm and our room is still extremely hot. Second, the wifi doesn't work at all. Third, there are only two towels and one wash rag in our suite (333) and my brothers room (140). All of our towels have holes in them! This has to be the worst experience at a hotel we have ever experienced. To top it off, we are down here to bury my grandmother who passed away Friday. This isn't something that we wanted to deal with on top of all the stress my family has now. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!!!!
I will say the young man at the front desk was very helpful with trying to make us comfortable and even found some extra fans around the hotel to put into our room. Thank you!
Rooms were a bit small, but bed was amazing. Breakfast could have been a lot better. I chose to spend money than eat free! TV channels were okay. Guests were extremely sweet and helped with most everything they were able to
The rooms are unknown as of now. Turn around of staff means with unbearable management staff or pay pushing pricing making employees search for other employment without the desire to return if no notice given. The staff are friendly and respectful to guest privacy. Having a service that transports some of their employees, guest conversations never come out. Client confidentiality is priority. This should be understood. Maybe a employee appreciation day once a month with a simple dependable local business. #LesGoService
My husband reserved a room as a surprise getaway. The room was nice however the towels smelled like moth balls and there was a lot of hair left in the corners and on the door of the bathroom. The keys to our room had to be reset after one use and it took 10 minutes for the front desk agent to acknowledge our presence as we waited to be helped. Other than those minor issues it was an okay visit.
I would give zero or negative stars if possible. Reserved a 2 night stay.got there really late so once checked, went right to bed. Woke up in the middle of he night and saw roaches! Inspected the room in the a.m. and it was REALLY filthy! Reserved a room at another hotel and checked out asap! Reported the room to manager (Tabitha) she thought the room was fine and offered no adjustments to our one night stay. Moving to another hotel caused me to miss some of the robotics competition! Alsothe bed was lumpyNeedless to sayDON'T STAY HERE!
Got a suite because I'm in town for work and brought my wife and daughters and I wanted some extra room for them during the day while I work. Room was nice and clean. They let me check in at noon instead of making me wait till three. The kids loved the popcorn machine in the lobby and the cookies they make there too. The pool was the real selling point for the kids. There is a mellow mushroom in the parking lot also. Staff was super nice and helpful. If my family ever comes back with me to Albany this is likely where we will be staying.
