First impression was not terrific. After checking in, we headed for our room on second floor. Elevator reeked of marijuana. Someone must have hotboxed it before we entered. So much for a smoke free hotel. When we got to our room (#210), door looked like it had been kicked down at one point. Door was badly dented both inside and outside room. Room also faces pool and freeway. Good luck getting to sleep before 10pm. The a/c unit, which is a small window unit had 3/4" gaps on both sides of unit, allowing cold air in. Even with Windows and doors shut it still sounded as if we were outside in this room. Breakfast was surprising good. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, self serve waffle maker, along with bagels, muffins, toast, doughnuts, and cereal. You could find a much better place in the area for the same nightly rate.

One of the best places to stay in San Clemente!! Reasonably priced, comfortable bed and a family suite! Many other amenities too! You won't be disappointed!

The rooms are spacious . I have a son in a wheelchair so I get nervous going to hotels when I don't ask for the handicapped room. No problem with these rooms. And the continental breakfast was great. And great variety to choose frim

This hotel has severely eroded related to cleanliness and customer service since the new ownership or management. Recently they tried to stick me with $1/night in-room safe charge. I refused to sign my credit card at checkout until it was removed from my bill. With a terrible attitude the clerk reluctantly reach into his wallet and gave me $3 for my 3 night stay. Based on my last few stays this hotel is destined for a one "STAR" rating. Every where you turn it's simply dirty and management by people who don't care about their customers. During my 25 years of traveling and staying in hotels on average of 18 nights per year I've unfortunately seen this "spiraling down" scenario far too many time and the end result is a disaster. I'll need to be "down and out" related to other available hotels before staying here again. The smell, lack of cleanliness and overall attitude of the ownership/management should be of concern to any potential customer. You've been warned but if adventurous give it a try for yourself. Thanks

Awful awful costumer service! The rooms are descent, but not for the price. Considering I was staying in the nicest suit they offer for a week, you would think they would be atleast personable or try to paste on a fake smile. After a 45 min wait sitting in the lobby, watching the desk clerk putts about i was met with disrespect and hospitality. Not once, not twice not even 3 times. EVERY TIME i had to interact with them! From yelling at me of guest times(at 4pm mind You) to threatening to call the manager if i didn't extend my stay for that day. Witch I had already arranged the previous day. Save your money, save your stress and go elsewhere.

Normally I don't take time to write reviews, simply because of time constraints, but in this instance I feel compelled to do so. My wife and I come to SoCal several times a year on business, and to visit our Marine son and his family. We have stayed at this same motel once or twice a year on average for the last 11 years. It was usually clean and the staff accommodating. Well, this time the staff, though polite, were far from accomodating. It began when they're credit card reader wouldn't read my card, and I was told he was not allowed to manually enter the number ( I had just used this same business card to fill up my car ). Strangely, he was willing to send us down the road to another motel rather than manually enter my card. Rather than going elsewhere, I went to the car and got my wife's business card, and brought it in. He was able to swipe hers, and I waited to sign. The paperwork is ready but rather than allowing me to sign, he will only accept my wife's signature and not mine for the card signature. Okay I'm really annoyed at this point, but I get a deep breath, and go out, park the car and get my wife. She signs the card receipt and told the clerk to be sure the reward points went to our account. He then told my wife the points would not go to our account since she used her credit card rather than mine !!! Now I'm fuming !!! I spoke with the manager the following day, and he said the clerk followed policy. That I understand, but policies are there as guidelines NOT a written in stone commandment from above. I can only assume there must be a new owner, and that individual has NO idea how to provide customer service. Additionally, one of our sinks was clogged all 3 days we stayed despite daily requests for repair. We will likely not be back again.

Very nice hotel with a great location. The only bad thing about the room was that the sliding door didn't completely seal which not only allowed extra outside noise into the room, but smoke as well. This was especially a problem, because I have asthma and having to smell the cigarette and marijuana smoke that came into the room (likely from someone smoking on their balcony) was not pleasant. We always look for non-smoking hotels and rooms for this reason, so it was disappointing when this occurred especially when paying so much.

5 year old jelly packets, starwberry turned marmalade. Decent pool, and hot tub. They did have the tasty gurts, chobani kind.

Good location, clean, free parking. The a.c. units are kind of dated but they work(that's really the important part right?).

Room was nicely made up. It was neat and clean. The front desk was polite and friendly. Their system was a bit slow for checking in, but that's only a minor complaint. Breakfast was very tasty as well. It was a good value overall.
