The hotel itself is nice, the staff are kind and friendly if their not frazzled/busy. The shuttle service runs at random times, if you need the shuttle do expect to be able to catch it in time. The area around the hotel is scary no matter the time of day/night. There is a big police presence but it doesn't seem to help at all.

HORRIBLE!: Aaron, who rated the hotel on 3.18.2012 was correct. They are currently renovating, which is good; however, the area just outside the hotel is extremely unsafe. The guests were escorted by security to dinner and then escorted back. The reason for our stay was a Dept. of Education conference and the DOE recommended the hotel. We will never return under any circumstance and will gladly pay 2x the amount simply to get away from the area directly outside the hotel. Walk two blocks away in any direction and it's fine. Just don't go alone to the Underground at night. Nightmare!

Customer service could use a lot of work! We were given keys to a room that was occupied and waited for an hour and a half to wind up with a room we did not pay for. Renovations were going on, which only added to the headaches. There's a reason why the entire building isn't shown in the picture. This hotel is located only a few short blocks from a homeless shelter, and is in a less ideal part of downtown. Although the interior is aesthetically pleasing, the quality isn't there. The beds were uncomfortable. Spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

Avoid at all costs. Hotel itself isn't too bad, though we did have to switch rooms because we found bugs in our first room. The area is terrible, and feels extremely unsafe. Right outside the front door is a Marta hub and an entrance to Atlanta Underground. On a Saturday afternoon, there were 60-80 people hanging out on the block, in front of pawn shops, hair extension shops, and shoe stores. My wife and I were harassed and glared at constantly until we got a few blocks away.
Parking is also by valet only, and the service is terrible. Nobody permanently mans the valet boothwe went inside to ask the front desk and they supposedly called someone, but we waited 15 minutes before someone showed up to take our car. I would have loved to park the car myself, but the hotel only has a tiny turnaround in front of their door, and there is no parking on site. I have no idea where the valet guys take the cars. Picking up the car in the morning was just as bad, with close to 30 people standing around outside with their bags waiting to get their cars back.
The rooms are fine, the service is fine, the parking is horrendous, and the area is a nightmare.

The suite was very roomy but the location leaves a lot to be desired. The neighborhood did not feel very safe. Lack of restaurants nearby. Room was very nice and clean but common areas were not.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy, although it is close to downtown attractions and public transportation. The hotel has been beautifully and comfortably remodeled. The suite we got was _huge_, the beds were very comfortable, and the free continental breakfast was pretty good. The price was also very reasonable for the size and comfort of the room (and the great view of downtown). I would definitely recommed this hotel if you have business downtown or are visiting the downtown area for leisure.
